US military support for diversity isn’t a new woke thing that people recently made up. My 1989 departure gift from the 193d Support Battalion is our unit crest with the words “Strength In Diversity” prominently displayed. Diversity is a weight bearing pillar of the military, not a decorative add-on

Whatever you think of the growth of inclusive leadership over the years, I think the deletion of factual history from USAF syllabi because it might be considered ‘diverse’ shows that it will take a lot of moral courage for leaders to resist a return to a greater tolerance of toxic leadership.

Similar to about a third of the electorate not voting in the Brexit referendum. Like first past the post, the electoral college distorts the fact mandates are rarely as clear as either sides make out. As the US system has elections every two years there’s not long to tweak plans accordingly.
