Also had a large packet of 250 woven fabric care labels arrive today.

Great post day. Thanks - and congrats - to @pollypaulusma.bsky.social for Wildfires. Out on general release this Friday. Go see her on tour!

I spent an enjoyable time with @mattmuir.bsky.social today. We spent a few hours wandering round Brompton Cemetery. We found the best name: Trinidad Remorino. www.findagrave.com/memorial/214...

I had the dentist today. This came on as I left. Such a great track, from an absolutely cracking LP: unspunheroes.bandcamp.com/track/the-ne...

Thanks to Ralph McClean at BBC Belfast for giving a huge shout out for @stephensimmons.bsky.social and the vinyl release of Drink Ring Jesus on his 5th Feb show: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Reissue Review: Stephen Simmons "Drink Ring Jesus" - Unspun Heroes vinyl record label exhumes a fascinating early release by worthy Tennessee troubadour @stephensimmons

Today I somehow mostly dodged the rain, had coffee with @bezza.bsky.social, received confirmation that @pollypaulusma.bsky.social’s new album has shipped, and walked eight miles. Oh, and did some work. Now packing things for other people and being a *little bit* grumpy about CN22 forms.

Still floors me as a song, and as an artist: kathrynjoseph.bandcamp.com/track/the-bird

Hard to believe this came out 30 years ago. Brilliant. YouTube playlist, but also available on the streamers: youtube.com/playlist?lis...

“He’s been compared to a number of other artists – on the album under review he is not unlike Dylan, but the most comparisons have been Johnny Cash and Ryan Adams or early Steve Earle. He’s also not unlike Arlo McKinley.” Thanks @americanauk.bsky.social! americana-uk.com/reissue-step...

Stumbled upon to this. Only heard the preorder tracks but Odd Energy is excellent. Like The Smile without the Yorke vocal. Anyway, Echolalia are from Nashville and I like them: echolaliaband.bandcamp.com/album/echola...

That thing where you realise what you want to do makes stuff too expensive to buy (retail) but you’re all in now 🤷🏼‍♂️ 😂🙈

Toronto-born vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Saya Gray released a pair of excellent EPs over the last two years. I’m excited to see her debut full-length album. SAYA shows the Artist’s many influences, from House Music to Country. Gray’s voice is ethereal. sayagray.bandcamp.com/album/saya

Just stuffed a James Varda test pressing into a Stephen Simmons sleeve with three Golden Shoulders inserts and the fabric sample for The Experimental Pop Band. Life is strange sometimes. But it helps me learn that a standard LP sleeve will be just fine.

Currently playing the first Unspun Heroes #vinyl release, James Varda's Chance And Time. I remember the boxes being delivered this time last year (so many!) and it's an album I return to often. The kind of music AI will never ever replicate: unspunheroes.bandcamp.com/album/chance...

Great, as ever. Tim’s disdain for a certain RSD release made me spit my tea. Also lovely to hear @justplayed.bsky.social repeat the super nice things he wrote for @clashmusic.com about alt-country beauty, Drink Ring Jesus by @stephensimmons.bsky.social, which is my latest release.

Noticed the message comes up on Apple Music whenever I type in a word that signals harm of some sort.

Off to Peckham for the day. Meeting some friends, also meeting someone with a music app thing that looks super interesting, and *might* doorstop someone about their music as I'd love to release it.

News just in: woven care label sample for the next release has come through. Here’s a bit of what it looks like.

Soundtracking my morning's work - amadoumariam.bandcamp.com/album/welcom... I like to listen to non-English tracks when I've got writing to do, as I don't find the need to sing along.

Been a bit quiet due to work, things taking longer on the next release, shipping albums on behalf of someone else, and just it being a bit February.

Like many in London, I've had no internet for a few hours. So now I'm listening to this 2021 Knomad Spock album, Winter of Discontent because it's back on and I can: knomadspock.bandcamp.com/album/winter...

Two years ago I had a stupid idea. Now you’re part of it. Yep, the domain renewal just went through. Morning!

Via @mattmuir.bsky.social’s weekly newsletter is this bizarre but compelling project: setting the shipping forecast to lo-fi beats - on.soundcloud.com/1rw37SaZXrKr...

I’ll be honest, I could always do with more sales if buying vinyl is your thing. They’ll never be re-pressed (by me) so you’ll get something wonderful and limited. unspunheroes.bandcamp.com

So anyway, last night, this happened. Still processing. www.patreon.com/posts/what-f...

Top of my list of covers that meet the original, and may be said to exceed it, is this Robyn Hitchcock version of the classic 'Furs track. Reckon this would make my desert island disc selection: youtu.be/52DUrv1gCUw?...

I could do this all day. This - and I feel so old writing this - slaps: youtu.be/k_oi1yDAAA8?...

Strong The Weather Station vibes. No bad thing: tessarosejackson.bandcamp.com/track/hell-o...

Slowly teaching Apple Music not to play crap. Seems to be getting better. Still can't work out why I can't favourite songs from my phone without syncing 50GB of music to it, but there we go.
