#vss365 ers Thank you Rachel for stepping in. I am going to get back to this by night after I get back to Delhi . Elegies do not simply lament loss; they seek meaning in it, offering both tribute and transcendence. They illuminate love, resilience, and the enduring pulse of memory. Anish

#vss365 #Prompt #elegy (Origin English – "mournful poem") A form to hold what's been lost. What needs to be mourned into words? 🌫 Theme: Memory continues 🌀

Hi #vss365 ers I am running against time it seems, catching up on so many writes. #vellichor resonated with a lot, and I am glad for that. Yesterday's poems unravel the tender ache of nostalgia, where old books become metaphors for lost love, unspoken memories, and fragile longing.

"I was more than a singer." Cosmo pointed out on his photos to Jin. "I was a sexy librarian too. Had to organize the Marine Band Library when I wasn't performing. That old sheet music had that #vellichor smell." "Why that boring job?" Jin said. "Either that or teach." #vss365

#vss365 Mingling both their vast book collections in the sunroom was an oddly precious choice when Luke & Taran got the new place. The sun activated the #vellichor; a closing roof, dimming bulbs, and insufficient corner fan beckoned a friend's nose & an airy tolerance. Complimentary carrot sticks.

Fingers tracing spines, Some have lain untouched so long, A vellichor kiss. #vss365 #vellichor #haiku #poem #writing #writingcommunity

The musty smell Of ancient tomes Bears touch Of petrichor As I walk down Cramped bookstore aisle I ache With #vellichor Deep love I feel For print on page Most wouldn’t Understand But when we reach For the same book A spark Connects our hands #vss365

When I smell the vellichor aroma I think of the forgotten words Bright insights lost in time While I struggle to have a voice How soon will I be forgotten #vss365 #vellichor

Vellichor the only scent more evocative than darkness #vss365

among the dusty stacks of time-tired tomes enveloped in #vellichor my silent sanctuary fingers tracing old engraved leather the age-ravaged page creaks with memories a whisper of inscription faded by centuries “Amor meus aeternus est” love never dies #vss365 📷 my book (1504)

Who birthed this strange child whose imagination hungered so. That they sought out heavy crumbling dusty tomes rich in #vellichor delighting their senses marked with the oily fingerprints of readers past. Volumes so heavy as to hardly be held by small hands yet filled with ancient delights #vss365

the petrichor reminds me of every summer rain we never kissed in the #vellichor reminds me of every old book shop we never browsed together even the smell of freshly brewed tea reminds me of every cup i never left beside your bed do you miss all we've never done too #vss365

I used to like to sit on the faded chintz armchairs at the bookstore, surrounded by a ramshackle selection of books left by others. But now the sense of #vellichor overwhelms. Forgotten stories, unturned pages. I fear I will disappear like the pattern on the chair, like words eroded by time. #vss365

Kids today know ichor as points to be earned in a game. The divine scent of old books in an antiquarian bookstore has no appeal. The latest tech is all. Except... I was never like the others with my face glued to a screen. I adored #vellichor, & that's how I ended up trapped inside a book. #vss365

Floorboards creak companionably in the Old Bookshop in Penn sun slants through tiny windows dust motes fall like stranger things in this almost sacred air even the books sigh pages whisper but, alas, this temple of words is no more all is #vellichor the Old Bookshop in Penn, a new build #vss365

“Books and rain,” I answer When she asks what Will save us. Vellichor is The smell of a bookstore. Petrichor is the scent Released by earth When, after dryness, Great rain comes. “Everything is memory And weather,” I say. “Keep going. Watch over Each other.” #vss365 #vellichor

"The shopkeeper's smiling Sholmes. Too much" "The #vellichor in the air is masking his evil grin" "That's the smell of treachery" "No Hatson, that's the smell of dusty deceit. With a hint of mint" #vss365

The #vellichor as soothing as the silence Time incapable of sealing the wound of “After You” but offering the place ‘before’ the slicing of your blade #vss365 #writingcommunity #poetrycommunity #writercommunity

#vss365 #vellichor There are creatures strange In old book stores Drawn in by vellum's ichor Each glue Each ink Each paper Each binding Every leather Aging in the story of the store Exhaling their antioxidants A bibliophile's miasma Intriguing to the breath weapon dragons Our imaginary Vellichori

Lost and found High school poetry book The whiff travels to my senses before I can flip the first page What could have been What wasn’t to be Outside the mild drizzle on baking earth cakes sends petrichor my way and the #vellichor drifts away as a paper boat’s relief on seeing the rain #vss365

Apart from the fact that Katie was in it, this was the only way the real world beat the world of the game. An almost endless book shop that seemed to stretch on and twist and turn forever, but not the slightest sense of the #vellichor scent he loved. To dip a nose into a book and breathe. #vss365

#vellicor #vss365 #owl_nightsky I went to a library for news research. I suddenly felt nauseous, caused by a gust of a strange atmosphere. A series of images flashed through my mind: incest, humans being eaten by giant animals, bloody wars… Finally, I saw humans living peacefully. …

The musty, old ruin held nothing but paper, that Dylan could see. No technology of any kind, only a #vellichor smell and a desire to fire up Magpie’s computer and read something real. Yet the scans indicated something. Something with a lot of power and probably worth salvaging. Somewhere. #vss365

I appear to be an outlier. I love to read but never loved hanging around in bookshops, a means to an end for me. Maybe because where I grew up had pretty much WH Smiths or nothing for anything that had come out in the last few years and I could get older books from the library. #vellichor #vss365

scent of bygone years old hall in life's library time's vellichor #vss365 #vellichor #haiku #poetry

Musty dusty shelves vellichor aromas of the printed page, yet as all must knowledge wisdom wit all returns to dust. #vss365

OK, #vellichor is an invented word. Like a humanoid with no navel. #vss365

Vellichor A neologism That sounds old Nostalgia Musty old books The scent Of wisdom And ancient knowledge Tales of yore And the forgotten words Of our ancestors #vss365 #poem #poetry

Where dust drapes spines like ancient lace, and whispers linger in yellowed leaves— I wander memory’s rain-slick lanes, aching for Charing Cross ghosts, for #villichor steeped in oaken hush. The scent of thought still haunts me— a library of loss beneath my ribs. #vss365

Waterstones filled me With a sense of #vellichor Buying paperbacks #vss365 #haiku

#vellichor #vss365 Have a great Monday and a brilliant week #poetrycommunity

Where I am staying I need no musty store To stir my every sense With #vellichor. And when I leave, today! - If not my head I know my heart will balk At leaving so, so much unread. #vss365

I go into the attic On the night of the funeral I find what I’m looking for I haven’t seen this book For 30 years It’s been up here Buried in dust and time I open it up And the #Vellichor hits hard Days with my grandma Come back in a rush And the tears fall again The book stays with me #vss365

A single tinkling bell announces my arrival. Silence envelopes me in her warm embrace I see the #selcouth yet familiar shelves overflowing with voices of longtime friends I draw a deep breath and smile, acknowledging the #vellichor of this space A world of words awaits my exploration #vss365

Petrichor makes you wistful for a world that feels like light rain. It's rare now for the scent of vellichor to even come together. How many used books must be near each other? you wonder. Which ones must be read to make someone want to make the world lighter? #vss365 #vellichor

Great work

#vss365 Library of Myself Vellichor seeps from cold-cracked jackets— yearning stitched in yellowed threads. Each shelf, a mausoleum of maybes. I breathe the dust of who I am and close the cover on who I was becoming. #vellichor #poetry #poem #poet #writerscommunity #writing #writer
