#California is what's referred to as an "internal colony." We're systematically under-represented in the Federal Government, over-taxed, and our wealth stripped away to finance the Empire's priorities instead of ours. California does not need America. #FreeTheBear www.newsweek.com/california-e...

Nationalistic egocentrism never mapped the human genome, eradicated smallpox, or revolutionized physics. Progress isn’t driven by borders or self-interest 🧪 #AcademicSky

Reminder: Black history offers many examples of fighting authoritarianism, so one doesn't always have to look to Europe. Nazi lawyers looked to Jim Crow for inspiration for their racist laws. Read as much about struggles against Jim Crow as you do about other examples of resisting authoritarianism

So about 10 minutes into the America constitutional convention. Got it. America has never been a democracy. The difference is that now they are no longer even pretending. Trumpism is the de-masking of what America has always been.

Reminder to liberals that recognizing Trump as a fascist who must be opposed doesn't mean we have to pretend that Harris was anything other than a wildly corrupt ghoul who could never have won a primary and was only the nominee because of back room deals. Democrats are not the solution.

What charts like this miss is that cutting working class pay is the actual point of inflation. This isn't an accident ir a policy failure, it's the goal. Rich people's wealth is tied to shares of companies and that wealth is not touched by inflation. Inflation only hurts people who work for wages.

Exactly THIS!

America has funded literally dizens of fascist regimes all over the world for decades. How is anyone surprised that the oligarchs eventually decided to go mask-off and do the same thing here?

We are governed by violent sociopaths precisely because they are the ones willing to do anything to seize and retain power while the rest of us hesitate to pull the trigger. History shows clearly fascists and tyrants are never removed without violence. To defeat them, we must become more like them.

The solution has been right there all along.

Save California Salmon stands with the coalition urging Governor Newsom to prioritize California's watersheds, salmon, and communities over politically driven policies. As stewards of our rivers, we echo their call: Defend California’s people, environment, and laws! Read More: tinyurl.com/defend-CA

I've said it before and I'll say it again: there is no good reason for California to be part of the United States and if this was a democracy we would already be independent.

This is only the case because states with smaller populations than many Californian cities have the same 2 Senators we do. It's absurd. We are systematically under-represented and should be independent.

Scientific studies make this sound clinical, but in real terms this is genocide. #FreePalestine #AbolishIsrael #AbolishAmerica www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

Every thinking person understands that Trump is vile. But what Democrats don't want to know/admit is that most Americans think they're even worse. www.axios.com/2025/01/30/d... That doesn't change without policy changes, and the D leadership have proven they're unwilling to make those changes.

All utilities should be owned by the communities they serve. State-mandated private monopolies are nothing but corporate welfare and should all be abolished. calmatters.org/economy/2025...

When the workers have nothing left to lose, the oligarchs should become very concerned. ✊👇

First Past The Post elections mean that the US can only ever have two viable parties. That means the Democrats are the only electoral opposition to the Republicans we will ever get. And they just plain aren't good enough. Yet another reason California needs independence. jacobin.com/2025/01/demo...

Employee ownership is one of the few bipartisan issues in the United States, with both Democrats and Republicans showing support. Ohio, a red state, is just as much of a hotbed for employee ownership as California. Why? It helps workers build wealth, and that's good for everyone.
