The book I've been working on with my JLDHE pals is due to be released soon!!! It builds on the Compendium of Innovative Practice and documents the lasting impact the changes we made during COVID 19 had on teaching and learning across the HE sector. So excited to be part of this shorturl.at/zA1dh

Really helpful overview of the Associate Innovation Scholar scheme at Manchester Met 2025-26 from @manmetuta.bsky.social. Great to hear from our team member Stuart Parkin @stuparkin.bsky.social reflecting on his role as an Associate Scholar 2024-25, working on the Man Met Active Learning Spectrum.

And a call for contributions to the Manchester Met Active Learning Spectrum. Man Met colleagues, if you have experience of active learning approaches within your teaching, @stuparkin.bsky.social and Jack Sutherst in the Digital Education team would love to speak to you.

In hashtags, it helps if each new word starts with a capital letter. Otherwise, sighted users could see a string of letters and not immediately know where one word ends and a new word begins. Capitalized words also help screen readers properly read out the hashtag.

Global citizenship experienced as interculturalism. Some recently published findings from my research open.substack.com/pub/drcaroli...

Don’t just say DEI as if it’s a bad word. Spell it out. Say diversity, which is the lifeblood of American society & culture & innovation. Say equity, which a just society should pursue. Say inclusion, because decent people believe in increasing belonging, not isolating people who are different.

Microsoft's own research confirms something that was already pretty obvious: relying on a text generating machine to come up with answers erodes critical thinking, and is a method favoured by those who never liked doing critical thinking in the first place advait.org/files/lee_20...

This is why I’ve railed against AI for years, as I’ve been seeing my students’ abilities to create, critically think, analyze, weigh evidence, write analytically all wither away in this zombification trend. They’re creating the permanent underclass.

The opinion piece I wrote with my good pal Craig Morley has been published today in the Journal of Learning Development in HE. We call upon respective professional associations to do more in community with one another to support third space staff to progress: journal.aldinhe.ac.uk/index.php/jl...

Exciting new issue Of the Journal of Learning Development (JLDHE) focused on the #thirdspace in HE - 55 articles (yes, 55!) - lots of interesting discussion &practice ‘across the boundary lines’ in #highered #integratedpractice #edusky #sotlsky #teachlearnsky journal.aldinhe.ac.uk/index.php/jl...

I am the new Programme Leader for the PGCert in Learning, Teaching and Assessment at Man Met. This means a lot to me. The way the Man Met teachers supported me as a student had a lasting impact on my life and my social mobility. It's not an easy task but I'll do my best, any advice greatly welcome 🌼

In job interviews and college admissions, we focus too much on what candidates have accomplished, and too little on what obstacles they've overcome. The true measure of people's potential is not the height of the peak they've reached. It’s how far they've climbed to get there.
