Question: if the government had shut down like so many seemed to want, would we have gotten the judicial rulings we've seen over the past few days, or would Twitler have been completely unrestrained at this time because courts were shuttered?

I take some measure of comfort when I see that 2/3rds of the country are NOT Maga. Of course, traditional media runs with the opposite headline, but this is the real takeaway. But you'd never know it if you watch network news. 2/3rds. Don't let the tail wag the dog.

I get the anger at Chuck and company who voted to extend. I am angry too. But pointing that anger at anyone other than Trump and MAGA is misdirected. It was this or shut down everything, including the courts, which we need. And that would be like handing your kidnapper a blowtorch.

That's it. Elon should have to spend one month in a minimum wage job, (anonymously, no reaching out to old contacts) and cover the bills on a small 2 bedroom apartment, in, oh I don't know, say, Columbus OH. Include transpo and a credit card balance of 5k. Do that first, then talk.
