Metallic Rouge is a recent ur-example of a show with fantastic design work, great 'cuts' (plenty of moments ready to be thrown up on a sakuga account) but narratively it just did not work at all. They were revealing completely redefining twists right up to the final minutes of the run.

I'd always recommend watching Star Trek or whatever because yeah it's a big pile of stuff and where do you start but, conversely, it's a big pile of stuff. You dig in and you could be at it a while. I took over a year going through the DCAU recently and that was a fun trip.

Definitely does feel thus far as like, maybe the season with the least amount of (relatively) empathetic rich people. I guess the daughter who wants to study Buddhism has had the best presentation thus far, but there's plenty of time for that to crack.
