In 7th place at our 79-player SCG Columbus 1k, we have RB Energy Lurrus! Lurrus plus the grindy energy package is a strong recipe for chewing through your opponents resources and heavy hitters like Kroxa help close out the game! Value Vintage is one of the last refuges for companion Lurrus!

In 8th place at our SCG Columbus 1k is . . . Merfolk ??? I truly haven't seen anyone have much success with typical Merfolk in this format prior to this, but this list looks solid and seems like it can definitely get the job done! Just another example of how nearly every archetype is viable here!

A few facts about our SCG Columbus 1k: -This was our 4th 1k of 2024! -With 79 players, it was the 2nd largest event at SCG Columbus! -Round 7 of the Swiss had 73 players, meaning throughout 7 rounds, only 6 players dropped despite most being dead for top 8! -Look for more SCG 1k's in 2025!
