River to table! A warm long weekend and open water = fishing opportunity. Didn't need to auger through ice. Caught two grayling, gave one away. Will cook the other up for dinner and post results. #food 🍜

Last night's dinner: bone in pork chop seared/braised with onion, apple, garlic, Dijon, white wine, thyme, salt and pepper. Served on smashed Yukon gold potatoes with some minced/wilted kale. #food 🍜

Today in raven mating-season shenanigans: pair of ravens on roof provoking/teasing a PLASTIC OWL; the ones used to scare away perching birds. When first seen, ravens were strutting/calling. Later, they were poking at it, with their bills and then there was a solo song/dance. #birds #Canadabird

Very warm, currently: -3C. And, on my work travels I saw an open water spot with grayling happily swimming around in it. So, fishing this weekend! And, if catching, then cooking.

I heard TWO black-capped chickadees singing their spring song, in my neighbourhood, on my walk home from work, today. So, spring is COMING! And, it is now solidly light out, at 5:45.
