Yes, of course I voted for Smaug the Terrible for President of Dale. I like how he speaks his mind, he's a different kind of politician. Plus he's just like us townsfolk, in that he also hates the elves. What could go wrong?

My emotional support HBO Girls rewatch 🫂

To the tune of The Go-Go's "Vacation": 🎶 Recession, all I ever wanted Recession, had to get away Recession, meant to be spent all alone 🎵

This was one of the best episodes on TV, of all time. I had the same feeling watching it as when I saw The Leftovers "International Assassin". Absolutely gripping and surreal.

It's the least I could do

This is now a job hunting support page for anyone who needs it 🫂

Yesterday was a hope day, today is a depressed, what's-even-the-fucking-point day.

Finally stumbled across this resource by LISEP that shows the *true* estimated unemployment rate vs single-digit one we keep seeing that only takes into account the folks currently applying for unemployment. www.lisep.org/tru

Long-term job hunting is so weird. Stretches of demoralizing rejections, feeling like absolutely nothing is making a dent. Then the occasional burst of hope that propels a bunch of applications. Bunch of rejections and hopelessness the next day again. Rinse & repeat.

I'm at a coffeeshop where they're playing a Playlist that's 50% Metric songs and I'm here for it.

Every mutual aid and collective organizing space I go into has 5-10 women for every man. Dudes need to step the fuck up.

My posts are weird and sporadic, but at least everyone knows I'm not a bot.

And this one. Phew. youtu.be/f99LASHuqYw?...

youtu.be/3BIv2BV3c-o?... Dug this one up from the old playlist. Looooots of feels.

Sometimes I get nostalgic for early 2010's Tumblr, SoundCloud, and music discovery blogs (e.g. IndieShuffle). Can't quite place what *exactly* made them so great, maybe we weren't inundated with algorithms the way we are now and there was more opportunity for curiosity/serendipity?

I wish I was a better (and braver) poster, but I think I'm too earnest, not great at shitposting, and have PTSD from every other social media app so. Maybe I'll get better at this and do a bit more than repost stuff about TV shows 🙃

Severance might be the closest thing to something Lynchian on TV currently. Beautiful, mysterious, dystopian, metaphysical.

i wish

Hard to pick just one! Welp.

I've put off signing up for Letterboxd, but actually remembering/tracking stuff I've seen & liked might be a compelling argument.

I had a conversation the other day with someone about TV shows I've watched recently and somehow *completely* forgot the absolute (harrowing) gem that is "The Curse".

Overheard: Harris and Walz are about to enter apostrophe hell.

Must be exhausting to constantly live in opposition to the world, yea?

this frog i picked up last night FLICKED ME OFF

#TsuchiyaKoitsu (1879-1949) Snow on the Sumida River (1936) #japanese #woodblock

Twin Peaks: An Owl in the woods.

for no reason at all, just a reminder to anyone who might need to hear it that ADHD is in fact a real condition and getting treatment for it is in fact admirable, it’s not that you’re just not good enough at rejecting capitalism in the same way you’re not good enough at being organized
