I fucked up. I got my dog so used to laying velcroed at my side, now when I try to do anything that doesn't allow her that, she gets quite insistent and disruptive that I allow her back by my side. It's nice for when I'm a depressed potato on the couch, not so much when I'm actually doing things.

Been a few days since I posted. I'm still alive, just mental health stuff kicking my butt.

The only thing I will say about 2024 is that I learned a lot about myself and my capabilities, that I matter and being gentle with myself is so important. That past mistakes aren't all I am and there's always room for growth. That I survived and I'll be okay. 1/2

Trauma as a child is different from trauma as an adult. As a child, there's less chances for a mistake on my end to get thrown back at me. As an adult, the chances are plentiful, the repercussions for speaking out more terrifying.

The Ritual, digital, based on the book by the same name by Adam Nevill. The last black goat of the woods.

Got another fountain pen, this time a Lamy. 😁

Protectress is almost free!

Apparently the fountain pen enthusiasts all hang out on Bluesky. 😂👋

I was gifted a Pilot fountain pen for Christmas. I'm excited to write poetry with it.

Wtf November is over. Where did the month go?

You're not an aspiring author. You're an author with aspirations. It's different 🖤

If you see this, post fungi

The meme I didn't know I needed

Both my books are on deep sales for Black Friday through the end of Monday, Dec. 2, on Amazon. If you like spooky things, make sure to check out The Roots Grow Into the Earth. Alternatively, if you want some raw poetry about surviving emotional abuse, go grab a copy of a broken vase, envenomed.

I need more people to read more original books, especially indie trans books, especially as censorship gets worse. Don’t let your prose-reading brain get smaller, man. Don’t let your muscles atrophy. Reading is so fucking important. If you can’t give your trans peers money, at least read our books.

It's a good writing day. And I've learned that when I write something exceptional and/or have a good idea, it sparks the dopamine and makes me feel productive. So I'm gonna take a writing break and channel that productivity into some cleaning.

That feeling when you write a really good line of poetry and want to share it, but also want to guard it and keep it hidden until published.

Stretching that poetic prose muscle. 🤌

I made a horror art starter pack for all the newcomers! It contains a treasure trove of cool artists to follow. It includes a bunch of smaller accounts I love, go give them some support! go.bsky.app/73vzeaV

"Now I know what two blood fat cocks slapping hands feel like, so thank you for that." *wheeze* #InterviewWithTheVampire

"Disregard." I love this version of Daniel's interaction with Armand, though if I don't get a "you're 500 years old and you don't know how to use the telephone, what are you an immortal idiot?" I'll be disappointed. #InterviewWithTheVampire

#Horror friends, especially #LGBTQ queer horror lovers, this talk is happening! Don't miss it 🌈📚😱 #HorrorLit #WritingCommunity #QueerHorror

Finished season 1 of Interview with the Vampire. Wow, what a great season. I'm so pleased with what they've done so far. I can't wait to watch season 2.

All the Interview with the Vampire episodes so far feel a lot longer than they are. Like they're warping time. 👀

New blog post is live! Talking about self-reflection and accountability. #mentalhealth #trauma vanroseblogs.wordpress.com/2024/11/26/s...

I am finally forcing myself to watch Interview with the Vampire. I need to prepare myself for season 3, because I'm not missing Marius' entrance. (Armand is my first fave character, but I already know his entrance.)

“How’d the world die? A pack of no-talent tech grifters created a digital artbarf machine to spew endless artbarf and each time the machine threw up it drank more water, destroyed more resources. Nobody wanted it but they did it anyway! Eat your roach paste.” www.thebookseller.com/news/new-pub...

My next blog post will go up tomorrow. The subject matter is self-reflection and accountability, two important steps in life I think everyone should do.
