No. 25 VCU falls short on Senior Night in 79-76 loss to Dayton www.vcuramnation.com/articles/no-...

FINAL: At the end of the day, the Flyers just made a couple more plays than the Rams as VCU falls at home on Senior Night, 79-76. Ram will still enter the A10 Tournament as the #1 seed.

U4: Seems like the last couple rebounds just went straight to a Flyer. Dayton has a 62-60 lead with 3:08 remaining. Hold on tight y'all.

U8: With 7:56 to play VCU has it's largest lead of the night, 53-50. Both teams in the Bonus for the remainder of the game with VCU on the door of being in the Double Bonus. Free Throws have been are life line tonight. Feels like we are just 1 or 2 stops from this being our game again.

U12: Dayton back on top 45-42 with a free throw out of the timeout. Rams still ice cold from behind the three-point line hitting just 2 of 17 attempts. Rams are still in this thanks to the FT line where they are 16-21 (Dayton is just 1-2 from the stripe)

U16: Dayton gets two wide open looks in the paint and take a 41-37 lead with 14:14 to play.

VCU takes the 29-28 lead on a fastbreak dunk from Bamisile who put in on a bounce behind his back after getting the outlet pass from Shulga!

HALF: Dayton takes a 28-27 lead into the locker room. All things considered, that is not a bad spot for the Rams. We did not look ourselves at all as we shot 29% overall and 13% from range. Zeb has 13pts, almost half the Rams total. Clark and Jennings put in some solid minutes for us.

U4: Transition play and Jack Clark gets the bucket and the foul. He pulls the Rams within 3pts with a free throw incoming after the break. Dayton holding a 23-20 lead with just 3:28 til the break.

U8: Rams trying to claw back, but Flyers are still holding an 18-13 lead with 7:51 til the break. Zeb Jackson came in and scored 6 straight for the Rams and re-ignited the crowd. Need more play(er)s to spark the ignition.

U12: Not much change on the score board, Dayton leading 15-5 with 11:45 til the break. Rams are now 0 for their last 11 shots from the floor, and just 1 of 6 on our layups. Shooting 2-15 overall. Not great, but also not time to panic.

U16: Dayton jumps out to a 13-5 lead behind an 8-0 run to start the game. Rams are a slight 1-7 from behind the arc right now—we're getting the looks they just aren't falling right now. There's 14:42 til the break though so plenty of time to settle in.

Just moments away from tip-off here at the Stu. It's Senior Night and the Dayton Flyers are in the house trying to spoil our fun. 02 - Zeb Jackson 04 - Jack Clark 09 - Luke Bamgboye 11 - Max Shulga 22 - Joe Bamisile

FINAL: VCU clinches share of A10 title with 71-62 win over the Duquesne Dukes www.vcuramnation.com/articles/vcu...

U4: Jackson puts the Rams on his back in the second half as he scores 11pts. VCU leading 61-49 with 3:53 to play.

U8: With 6:45 to play, Fermin picks up his fourth foul and now him and Bamgboye flirting with danger. A layup from Zeb Jackson extends the Rams lead 56-47.

Russell Phillips tweaks his ankle and will have to get help back to the locker room. DUQ gets to pick who shoots free throws and Fermin steps to the line and nails both of them. Crucial points this late in the game.

U12: Rams lead is 49-44 but the Dukes have a free throw incoming out of the timeout. Bamgboye picks up his 4th foul and that hurts the Rams. Theres 11:19 to play.

U16: Now VCU is forced to take a timeout as DUQ makes an 8-0 over just 1:23 of game clock. Rams lead is now just 45-39 with 15:19 to play.

Rams take a 45-31 lead on a Bamgboye rebound and putback. Dukes opt to take a timeout with 16:56 to play.

VCU rolls past Davidson, 80-56, for eighth straight win www.vcuramnation.com/articles/vcu...

FINAL: VCU uses a monster first half to close out Davidson, 80-56. Rams are 15-0 at home this year.

U4: Rams are leading 68-51 with 3:59 to play.

U12: With 11:51 to play, Rams have a 55-34 lead. Offfense has stalled a bit for VCU and the Wildcats have made their last five shots. Not a worry point by any means, Coach has been great this year at making the adjustments on the clipboard and letting guys figure out ways to win.

U16: Second half is underway and Rams have a 51-25 lead at the first media timeout. 15:24 to play.

HALF: Zeb hits the buzzer beater three and the Rams take a 43-19 lead into the locker room. Clark hits 4-4 from range and has 14pts at the break.

U8: It's 24-15 with 7:26 to play in the first. Zach Laput has 9pts for the Wildcats. Russell and Bamisile both have 6pts for VCU.

U12: Davidson tries on a 10-0 run, but Rams respond and the lead is now 20-11 with 11:06 til the half.

U16: VCU starts this one on fire as they connect on 6 of their first 7 shots, while also keeping Davidson without a FG. Rams leading 13-1 and Davidson calls the timeout with 15:38 left in the first half.

Just about 10mins from tip-off as the VCU takes on the Wildcats of Davidson. Your starting five for tonight: 01 - Phillip Russell 04 - Jack Clark 09 - Luke Bamgboye 11 - Max Shulga 22 - Joe Bamisile

U4: Spiders head coach, Chris Mooney, is called for the technical foul after he thought his team was fouled while shooting. Shulga hits the corresponding FT's and Bamisile gets the board and a bucket to put the Rams back up by 13pts. VCU has 67-54 lead with 3:37 to play.

Not much going the Rams way the last 8mins. VCU has had 7 turnovers and Spiders have clawed back to make this a three possession game. With just 4:20 to play it's 63-54 VCU.

Rams are leading 61-41 with 10:25 to play.

HALF: VCU taking a 51-33 lead into the locker room. Rams hit on 10 of their 15 three's, and are shooting 70% from the floor overall. Hope that maintains in the second, but if not we gotta find some other ways to score and keep them from putting up another 33pts.

Jack Clark with the reverse dunk after the steal!! Love to see it!!

U4: Rams leading 40-22 with 4mins til the half. VCU has made 9 first half three's and is shooting 75% overall from the floor through the first 16 minutes of action... 75%!!!!

Spiders forced into a timeout after the Rams crank out a 16-2 run.

U12: VCU leading the Spiders after putting up an 8-0 run. Rams with a 16-8 lead with 11:53 til the half.

VCU currently leads the A-10 in in-conference offensive efficiency and by a wide margin. Rams No.2 in EFG% (No.1 in 3p%) and No.1 in offensive rebound %, which combined with the league’s No.2 defense makes them so hard to beat. St. Joe’s is the only other A-10 team top-5 in both.

FINAL: Rams improve to 11-2 in conference and 21-5 overall after beating the Minutemen 80-51. Shulga and Bamisile led the Rams with 19pts each.

U4: Final media timeout of the night and Rams are comfortably leading this one 76-45 with 3:57 left to play.
