whoever keeps leaving all these tables and chairs underneath the wrestlemania ring should be fired or at least given a write-up :/ that's so dangerous :(

📸 Kerstin Casparij on Instagram, on her goal celeb in support of trans rights: “My goal today was dedicated to all my trans siblings… You have all been on my mind and in my heart, you deserve so much more than what this government & society is giving you... 🫶🏽🏳️‍⚧️” 👉 www.instagram.com/p/DIrXkd8Ig9J

I mean, the graffiti makes sense to me

/Freakonomics/ really has been one of the most corrosive pop culture phenomena of my lifetime. "You're actually wrong and your viewpoint is simplistic. The simplified *opposite* of that is the actual immutable truth!" gets us here so many times with very bad results

The Times actually refuses to represent both sides; they simply won’t publish the historically accurate position of those of who believe attacks on trans people are being carried out by those intent on genocide, as they were in the 20th century. The NYT will *only* publish the bigots’ false framing.

PLEASE REMEMBER LILIES ARE POISONOUS TO CATS AND CAN KILL THEM EXTREMELY EASILY

Lots of people imagine abstaining from the vote to be taking their foot off the gas, when they're really just taking their hands off the wheel

Con media: Up next, Blue City mayor legalizes turning puppies into fentanyl and the subway murder of the week. Liberal media: The town of Whitesville was founded by two Confederate soldiers and a dead possum in 1872. Though there is no school, they have much to teach us about being an American.

Even more so, it has been entirely disconnected from class and location, so that driving a pickup and listening to the right country music in a wealthy suburb is seen as more authenticly blue collar than a black person in a rural area

it’s worth noting that Republican politicians constantly denigrate cities as being wretched places full of crime and poverty and nobody really bats an eye but if a Democrat criticizes rural America it’s a massive scandal

Not the first person to bring this up but, translation: NPR isn't going to cover protests unless they are violent or involve property damage, at which point they will do what they always do: ask why the protests can't just be peaceful and if that's really the best way to communicate their message

it's easy to observe this in the increasingly homogenous "rural" culture and identity becoming unmoored from region or geography. regions that were once totally distinct, applachia, the lowland south, the great plains, the interior west, now all have a shared faux-redneck culture

RE: 'why small-town red America believes what it believes' discourse again, it's worth noting that the political trajectory of white rural America is as much a function of the top-down nationalization of media & political worldview formation as the bottom-up consequences of broad economic changes

This is bandwaggoning, and you know what? Good. Democrats are seeing that there’s political capital to be made out of doing the right thing and I couldn’t be happier.

"they also don't care about your way of life" is a total lie. they're obsessed with your way of life! they vote and speak in loathing of your way of life! small-town red America obsessively focuses on other ways of life

To me Rowling exists entirely outside of the “should we support/work with artists with troubling views?” debate. She doesn’t just *think* her opinions, she doesn’t just *say* them, she’s a relentless 24-7 activist whose whole mission in life is terrorizing trans people.

What we love to see. @lpzoo.org

Van Hollen: This case is not just about one man. It's about protecting the Constitutional rights of everybody who resides in the United States of America.

What if Elon is the first autistic person RFK has ever actually met and that’s why he assumes we don’t pay taxes or go on dates

i want to note that there isn't even a *single* anonymous democratic party strategist or consultant or elected quoted here, *every* quoted democrat here is praising van hollen and bashing trump, actual elected dems are a lot tighter together on this than people want to believe

Two goals. Uma estrela ⭐ Ludmila walks us through the magic (& the backflip 👀)

Darkly funny how Russiagate turned out to be 110% true but everyone decided it was cringe and therefore it’d be better to pretend it wasn’t.

A common characteristic of concentration camps is that they're controlled by governments and leaders who simultaneously want to use them to terrorize targeted groups while also pretending that the people running them are decent people not harming anyone and acting only in the public interest.
