And if you add in protests from Friday/Saturday, the entire weekend would look like this.

LAPD fired rubber bullets at Australian journalist @laurentomasi.bsky.social

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable. Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes. Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

🚨ANNOUNCEMENT🚨 Today, we are releasing our Freedom Budget for All Americans, a 9-pillar outline to eradicate poverty. The original Freedom Budget for All Americans was created by A. Philip Randolph, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., & Bayard Rustin. Full Freedom Budget 🧵

Colorado last year *required* jails to set up voting stations so people behind bars could vote — a first for any state ever. And how'd it go? Fantastic. In 2022, 231 people in CO jails voted. But in 2024, 2,300+ in CO jails voted. That's a nearly tenfold jump. boltsmag.org/jail-voting-...

In the coming weeks, a lot of slow-on-the uptake folks are going to begin belatedly realizing Trump is both an inept moron and a dangerous autocrat. Our great civic challenge in these trying times will be calmly welcoming them aboard instead of primal-screaming in their faces.

They really want to force young white women out of the workforce. And it is wild to watch conservative white women stump for their own subjugation. Because when they are not longer useful they will find out the cage isn't even gilded

When protestors uttered the slogan “defund the police” the national media had a massive freak out. But now that Trump wants to actually gut the FBI and (it would seem) illegally fire 1000s of people who work there, the same media sees it as a curiosity, a dull bureaucratic matter.

If the situation was hopeless the propaganda wouldn’t be necessary.

Current Mood: Bernard Sanders

I am proud to endorse Faiz Shakir (@faiz.bsky.social) as Chair of the Democratic National Committee. Faiz not only has the right working class credibility, vision, and insight for this moment, but he also has the vast experience needed to operate and rebuild the DNC. 1/2

A classic materialist reading here is that 2020 gave American tech executives their first real taste of worker militancy, and it scared them so much that they decided they needed to move into the political sphere to crush it.

BREAKING: No more free water at Starbucks, no more free restroom use, and no more hanging out in the lobby unless you're buying something. Workers and customers are getting nickeled and dimed by company that pays its celebrity CEO $57,000 AN HOUR. 🧵

This place is already starting to feel shittier 😔

At what point does one have the ability to file legitimate elder abuse cases against individuals complicit in this kind of thing? For real y’all. www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/12/miss...

“Is it okay for a social media platform to be an echo chamber” back in the day we had websites and websites were generally focused on a single topic and if you were into that topic you would visit that website and if you weren’t into that topic you just didn’t go on that website and it was fine

A stunning 34 members of the U.S. Congress - including @aoc.bsky.social, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Rep. Jim McGovern - have sent a letter to Biden calling on him to pardon me after I was targeted by Chevron with the nation’s first corporate prosecution. Grateful. mcgovern.house.gov/uploadedfile...

Seeking advice for dealing with pressure/weather related attacks. It’s the only trigger that is 100% out of my control and it happens to pretty reliably be my worst one. Any success stories with WeatherX earplugs or something similar? or are they just more snake oil? #migrainechat

I saw someone on CNN lament that there was no memorial at the site of the alleged murder. Wasn’t there a meeting of the victim’s peers and associates that day? If someone was murdered prior to a meeting in your workplace, would the meeting still go on like business as usual? Where was their grief?

Seeing a lot of top down internal memos lately… Platforms should be used to hone and elevate contrasting daily memos and messaging from the grassroots level. Stay on point, in unison. Rinse and repeat.

A bill to break up UnitedHealth, CVS, Cigna and more has been introduced by a bipartisan group of U.S. senators and representatives. The legislation would force insurers to sell their pharmacy businesses. It aims to combat PBMs, pharma middlemen who drive up costs.

Yesterday, student debtors went to DC to demand Biden cancel student debt. A 71 y/o woman joined us. No one from the Ed Dept would meet with her — or any of our older debtors. Her new loan statement was in the mail when she got home today. Her balance is $656,542.80. She borrowed ~$60k in 1985.

trypophobic folks, on a scale of 1-10–how anxiety inducing are pomegranates? Can you bring yourself to eat them?

So without mail in voting, Election Day will be made a national holiday… right? www.newsweek.com/donald-trump...
