This week in history — In January 2018, a Norwegian 737 carrying a group of 85 plumbers to a convention in Munich had to turn back to Oslo... because the toilets stopped working.

Just some @cinestillfilm.bsky.social 800T (box speed), but without any post-lab scan colour correction. It really is a vibe, but do you tweak the colours or leave it? Dev/scan by @analoguewonderland.bsky.social. #BelieveInFilm #FilmPhotography #London

Over £1,200 in vintage camera repairs in the last 12 months, when I could just shoot with modern, digital equipment like most normal people. 😆 Just picked up my Canon New F-1 and a few lenses from Sendean Cameras, who also happened to do a job on my Agfa Optima 1535 Sensor rangefinder last summer.

Amtrak desperately needs to bring these gorgeous timetables back. (Link below)

For what it's worth - the current transport purgatory that is Acton Town Station has no business looking this amazing in the (rare) afternoon winter sun (I'm actually offended, given the recent Uxbridge branch/rolling stock dramas). #London #FilmPhotography

I've been hideously busy with day job burning me out (back-to-back 7-in-a-rows) and then having to negotiate the side hustle and other life things outside of work. There's been a lot going on in the background photography-wise with a very large commission, as well as navigating personal projects...

The London Underground, the world's oldest metro system & 'great engineering triumph of the day', opened #OTD 1863. London Transport Museum

Yeah. So having to be at work on the #MemeRailway at 04:45 this morning was quite the anti-climax to an anti-climax of a NYE, but at least I was back home in bed by 11:30. #MetLineChronicles

2020 🤝 2021 🤝 2022 🤝 2023 🤝 2024 🤝 2025

Feels genuinely wrong if you say we are quarter of the way through this century

A sedate Christmas/Boxing Day in Kent. In-laws recently moved to outside Canterbury, so our first Christmas there (& also walked off some of the seasonal excess in Ramsgate). As we float in the space between 25th Dec & NYE (where nobody knows what day it is); best wishes to you all for 2025. 💛

Last night was ‘hump’ day (shift no. 4 in a run of 7) for me. Every day this week, something has happened on the #MemeRailway. _Shattered._ Yesterday my windscreen wiper jammed IN THE RAIN burning out the motor. No spare trains, so I had to sit around to get it fixed. #MetLineChronicles #Tubegeek

I used to enjoy the sound of rain, until I became a victim of typhoon Ondoy, with floods that reached the ceiling (we evacuated early). Now, when I do hear the rain in real life, I feel anxious. How sad, for a tragedy like that to steal the old pleasure I had of the sound of rain 🌧️ #climatechange

Rounded off the working week with a job interview (ft. li’l yellow trains), a metal crab, and an edible snowman.

James Webb telescope just dropped its latest image, Neptune, and its rings.

Our guy @mitchelmor.uk doing the Lord’s work this morning as I start another day on the #MemeRailway. Thank you, bro. 🙏 #MetLineChronicles #RailwayFamily

Just a reminder to all my non-linguist friends that prescriptivism is not your friend. Or at least it’s not going to make you and I friends in the long run. 😂

2024 me ruing the patriarchy is potentially going to outlive my existence via an interview/oral history recording tomorrow at our head office for our Corporate Archives collection. 💀 Haven’t been told what I’ll be asked except that they want me to run through my employment history since 2007.

It’s a BigJetTV kind of weekend. 😬 #StormDarragh

Bit of a dodgy journey to work this morning at 07:00 with the storm. 😬 A wee bit slippery today with the railhead & a bit of a fussy train with it on first half of the duty; a better time of it with second train later in the day. And thankfully no trampolines/gazebos #MetLineChronicles #MemeRailway
