I guess I just want us to operate out of an ethic of love, and to help build that world, I’m doing theology, anti-racism, community-building, and believing trans people are beloved. PC(USA) pastor, former non profit and theological education nerd.

I remember the times people told me I am too “political.” Like it’s bad to want policy to match our call to love all creation. youtube.com/shorts/RmGN5...

We spent time with loved ones today in beautiful places and it filled my heart.

He was literally born a refugee but okay

Freedom and justice for everybody youtu.be/VyU_HmPOEMY?...

Went to our first San Francisco Ballet performance last night to see a piece on Frida Kahlo (“Broken Wings”) with live musicians performing “La Llorona,” and “Marguerite and Armand.” It was way more cool than I thought it would be. The things we are capable of when we are focused on beauty.

I think a lot about how the risks and temptations in these times are to turn toward dehumanization. They dehumanize us and ours, so why not? But what separates us is our insistence on the human dignity of each person. Versus their insistence on the denial of dignity to anyone who doesn’t fit.

What is your weird stockpiling thing? *I am not doing hoarding, just stocking up on some things. I don’t think this will save me - only community can do that. Those flat coin-style batteries. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This happened to my family. And as early as high school, during a unit on the incarceration where white boys insisted it was okay to do this for “security” and “their protection,” I found out I couldn’t trust a lot of people to make sure this wouldn’t happen again.

I once said something not very nice about the chief justice when he was appointed in front of a young lawyer I know, and she defended him, and every once in awhile I think about how accurate I was because I already knew he was bad news even before he gutted the VRA.

Tom Segev was/is one of the great "new historians," Israelis willing to look at the truth of their history even if it wasn't the heroic story they'd been told, that they'd been told to tell. His books are great--engaging, meticulous storytelling, absolute doorstops. This interview w/him at age 80:

I feel like tomorrow is going to be a bad day so let me just go ahead and say this right now so that everybody can be mad that's going to be mad

I’m seeing a lot of posts about how certain immigrants sent to El Salvador are not actually criminals and this is true but I would also like to remind you that people with criminal records shouldn’t be subjected to this, either.

I’m preaching a special bilingual service today so can’t go protest but I am so delighted to see so many of you showing what’s right and good about us. Enjoy the view of the succulents on top of a little library.

I told the vet in December we ordered extra of the dog’s sweaters and shirts (because sourced from China) before tariffs start and got a blank look and here we are. Wish I were wrong.

If you think this can’t happen, remember that of the 125,000 Japanese Americans who were interned during WWII for years without charge or trial, two-thirds were U.S. citizens. Including me.

What a day to be talking about pension benefits (for context, I’m at a benefits summit for PCUSA Board of Pensions)

It’s time for an all-caps rant! Rant about things that don’t matter because too many things matter right now. I HAVE NOT HAD TIME FOR ACTUAL MEAL PLANNING AND PREP FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW AND I DO NOT LOVE FROZEN BURRITOS ANYMORE BECAUSE I AM HIGH-MAINTENANCE.

Working on ditching Meta products and one of the challenges is that I get a lot of community information from IG. Is the only answer to join all their email newsletters and hope they share the same information that way?

Always.

Trans people are my friends, family, colleagues, community members. If you want to speak up on your own behalf to defend them and their rights, you may do so through the Presbyterian Church (USA). www.votervoice.net/Shares/BUha8...

Today’s a great day to protect trans rights and honor trans lives, joy, and liberation.

"Fifteen Palestinian paramedics and rescue workers, including at least one United Nations employee, were killed by Israeli forces “one by one” and buried in a mass grave eight days ago in southern Gaza, the UN has said." www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

This makes me so happy. 🏳️‍⚧️ Trans people exist, they deserve to exist, and God delights in them. 💞

Sunny afternoon

Sometimes I think about how my Jewish grandfather fought the Nazis while serving in the US army during World War Two and the unqualified white supremacist alcoholic Fox host wants to fill the same army with Nazis.

Me: I forgot my ring! Spouse: Just go to Ace Hardware* and get one. 😂 *voted coolest Ace in the world

I’m on the board of a transnational organization whose governance is based in the US and I’m just…

We have had nearly two decades of panic about Free Speech on Campus and not a single case, not even the ones they made up, were as bad as what's happening now
