I would give up baked beans for new versions of the Omnibots that are faithful to the originals. I don’t want a $100 third party version. I want a $25 Hasbro/Tomy version. Anyway, Downshift here was a recent acquisition by way of a trade a week or so ago. He’s great. One down. Two to go.

In China there’s a Metal Cardbot line that branches off from the Korean line called Beast Energy. It’s live action mixed with animation. The main draw are these animal cards like Nether Bat here. He’s a fun little toys that’s quick to convert, but doesn’t really interact with the larger toys.

A company called Auldey produces blind box action figures of G1 Transformers in China. You can find them on sites like Aliexpress. If Jazz is any indication of the line, then these are all a treat. Jazz comes with his signature weapons, speakers, and multiple hands. His articulation is top notch.

I wanted to test the waters of KO G1 toys that are on Aliexpress. I was disappointed that the box got smashed in transit, but not surprised. That said, it’s a faithful reproduction even if it feels off. The accessories are good quality, but that’s only one of two positives I can say about it. 🧵 1/2
