Damn, one of my kids just volunteered to read their first page (Go Dog Go) It's only sight words but they were sounding out some to help them through

The older I get, the more trip packing for myself is less about bringing clothes & other essentials and more about what books to take I can always buy something I forget but I'll be kicking myself if I'm caught without something to read

Finished reading 'Refactoring at Scale' today & made me think about non-engineering parts of projects! Maude Lemaire talks about big code refactors during their time at Slack. But it's really just an awesome book about working with your team, upper management, and other teams. Highly recommend it!

Movie you’ve watched more than six times using gifs. (“Hard mode” no Star Wars, Star Trek, or LOTR)

A wild 'How to Win Friends & Influence People' appears!! Seriously, I'm reading a book about refactoring code & sure enough I see a reference to this book I read just a week ago bsky.app/profile/vict...

@hankgreen.bsky.social doing linguistics in a video! youtu.be/jawQ-HvJFhQ Also, I now have an accessible video that I can use as evidence that 'sofa chair' is a perfectly good description XD

Trying to rest while having this stupid ear infection but I feel like I have to do something Can't decide what to do: - Start reading a new book - Actually write a blog post from a list of ideas - Try automating book entries into thestorygraph.com - Play w/ some code - Completely veg–out on YouTube

Finished reading 'Dictionary Wars' the other day Honestly thought it was going to be focused more on linguistics— this is what I get going into it blind XD Still, not a bad read. But I think I'm just not into drama even fromhistorical non-fiction. (This made my wife laugh— 'what are you a robot?')
