Pritzker calls for mass protests and disruption - “Republicans cannot know a moment of peace,” he says, swaying their portraits will one day be put in museums “reserved for tyrants and traitors”

NEW: Government officials insist that neither DOGE nor Musk have any real decision-making authority—they merely “advise” or “consult.” But internal DOJ emails provide the most compelling evidence yet that DOGE is not simply advising—it’s calling the shots. www.lawfaremedia.org/article/on-d...

Here is a link to the full @60minutes.bsky.social segment! 👀 a nice surprise at 5:25 AND one of our very own, Kristin Weinstein makes an appearance at 9 mins. #StandUpforScience #scienceforall #saveourscience www.cbsnews.com/news/scienti...

There’s something especially offensive about this EO from April 23 about the need for AI education… Given the termination of my grant on exactly this topic on April 26… www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...

It’s as though these people think the only human right is cosmetic surgery. apnews.com/article/trum...

A grandma who works at Target. An advocate for farmworkers. A cancer researcher. A grad student who wrote an op-ed. A hairdresser. A sheet metal worker and loving father to an autistic child. At least two people who took a wrong turn on the same bridge in Detroit. A toddler.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times using gifs. (“Hard mode” no Star Wars, Star Trek, or LOTR)

The man knows the intricacies of the NFL Draft but not the latest in the first European land war since WWII

A CNN host asked these creeps: “Does it matter to you all who has more babies in America, or is this a universal thing for you?" Eventually the husband came out and said yeah it does. He doesn't support possible "baby bonuses" for low-income people because they are "a drain on tax system"

NEW: A federal judge raised alarm Friday that the Trump administration appeared to have deported a 2-year-old U.S. citizen to Honduras with "no meaningful process" — even as her father was fighting to keep her in the country. Details w/ @joshgerstein.bsky.social www.politico.com/news/2025/04...

If you live in Arkansas: and your house was destroyed, and your neighbor was killed, and Trump denied your ignorant governor resources to help your state, and you don’t know how you’ll survive, and now, for the first time, you’re regretting voting for Trump… Good. Let that sink in.

Much, much, much worse than Watergate. Both on the surface, and because the context of the general attack on the Constitution matters to assessing each part. (Nixon's attack on the Constitution was much less broad than even first-term Trump's, let alone the current situation).

This is great news for all of the hardworking, everyday Americans who’ve been concerned there isn’t enough salmonella in our food supply.

Looks like Trump. Are we winning yet?

People sometimes ask "what are the crimes" and let me tell y'all, as a lawyer, that intentionally copying, altering, destroying, or disrupting government computer systems is super-duper illegal if you don't have a spotless paper trail authorizing it, which none of these DOGE people do.

Are we great again yet?

The crash in container ships arriving at the Port of Los Angeles (busiest in US) depicted in this graph should hit in a few weeks, which means lost business for truckers and probably some empty shelves in stores. Unless something big changes, the problems should become more apparent in the summer.

I’d chalk it up as one of the worst failures of mainstream political news in the 2020 election: treating Trump’s “disavowals” of Project 2025 like there was any reason to think the conservative movement’s big money project for that year was suddenly just not going to happen because he lied about it.

Trump has I think rightly calculated that no amount of fascist atrocities will drive the media to call them fascist atrocities

Walz: Here in Minnesota, freedom means several things. It means freedom from hunger and poverty. That means freedom to worship or not. It means the freedom to be who you are anyway you choose, and that is a birthright..

The Trump administration is ending federal civil rights enforcement, including in higher education. The regulations being repealed here are the basis for the withdrawn science funding at Columbia & Harvard. They specifically accused them of Title VI violations. 🧪 www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...

THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT IS THE LAW OF THE LAND AND A SUPERSTATUTE AND THE PRESIDENT CANNOT UNDO IT. sincerely, a constitutional law professor who also teaches employment discrimination

I will say it again — DEI has always polled well and the idea that it's broadly upopular is wholly the invention of pundits nursing their own grievances and projecting them onto an imagined average American. Many such cases.

Trump’s halting of data collection could have effects that last far beyond his time in office. Even if a future administration seeks to resurrect some of the curtailed efforts, the 2025-29 hiatus will make trends harder to identify and understand.

Just documenting for later purposes when SCOTUS assesses to what extent this is admissible evidence under the Trump immunity precedent in a bribery and corruption prosecution.

We'll be covering this on the show tonight.

Toddlers are representing themselves in immigration court. The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), passed in 1952 & upheld in 2018, says these children don’t have the right to an attorney. This administration is taking advantage of this. This law must be changed. #MomSky #Voices4Victory

How about this for some Deep State shenanigans? A retired CIA guy does CIA favors for his lobbying clients for most of the first Trump term. He is represented by Trump lawyer Jesse Binnall. www.justice.gov/usao-edva/pr...

The canceled grands are shock and awe, but the real damage will come from the long-term (massive) reductions in funding to the entire US research ecosystem and the defunding of entire fields and initiatives for training, growing, and diversifying the research workforce.

OK, this is a good report on *what* is happening, factually, but I want to note some concerns and questions: First, I get calling this "Trump's" agency b/c people want Trump in the headline and that's how Trump thinks of it, but this is about the EEOC, which is supposed to be an independent agency.

“Some officials say U.S. citizens who criticize administration policies could be charged with crimes, based on the notion that they're aiding terrorists and criminals.”

"Acts we once took for granted as virtuous, routine, and safe — telling the truth, representing those oppressed by the state, providing legal aid to the powerless, volunteering to work at a polling site, basic journalism — now carry some risk. They now require some courage."

I am livid. This happened very literally in an area I know well, near where my kids go to school. And it is absolutely indistinguishable from a kidnapping by a criminal gang. We need to identify that asshole in the ponytail. Figure out who the hell these people are. Stop this now.

[talking to the next cell] "what brings you to CECOT?" "i broke some university rules"

The Justice Department's Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias held its first meeting today, with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche saying they "have witnessed actions that suggest an underlying bias against people of faith, particularly Christians."

BREAKING: The Food and Drug Administration is suspending a quality control program for testing milk and other dairy products. The agency is citing reduced capacity. It has 20,000 fewer employees as a result of the DOGE cuts under Trump and Musk.

Dear Dems: Polling shows only *generalized* approval of Trump on immigration, but broad opposition to the lawless specifics. If you don't engage on Abrego Garcia and other illegal kidnappings, you only *help* Trump subsume all that under "keeping out illegals." newrepublic.com/article/1941...

This made my stomach drop. How can anyone support a system that includes this?
