A friend of mine handed me a box of odds and ends with a "You might like this stuff" - it had a pair of Sony Playstation Portable consoles in it. I'd never had a chance to play around with these, so I gave 'em a shot.

This should be fun. I got a couple Sony PSP's to noodle around with. They're really amazing little machines. I'll try and have a video up about them soon! #psp #games #sony #videogames

Mmmm, tasty DEC PDP 11 goodness. Working through an 11/23+. #pdp11 #dec #retrocomputing

Hey hey hey, new video is up! Old PowerBook g3 tastiness. youtu.be/x3Sv-c0zTCg #apple #retrocomputing #vintagecomputers

Organization porn, retro style.

Here's a little tidbit I just learned. The PowerPC architecture is what drives the Perseverance and Curiosity rovers, currently on Mars. (There are also SPARC CPU's on board as well!) #nasa #cpu #risc #mars #oldcomputers #vintagecomputing

Wait, this was a thing? I've heard of the MacCharlie - which basically docked a classic mac into a PC case. But this appears to create an unholy union between Apple IIe's and PC's. #apple #pc #ibm #vintagecomputers #retrocomputing

To be honest, this is how we felt most drives did it. ZING!

I like this game. I’m so old… I have a 5 character readable account on both yahoo and eBay. And they’re the same word. And speaking of eBay. I was on it before it was eBay. When it was “auctionweb”. I believe eBay was the hosting company.

This is mighty cool. The 5200's plasma display and good sized keyboard were great to work with. mastodon.fozztexx.com/@fozztexx/11...

HEY! That's a Cambridge Computer Z88! _rummages in display cabinets_. Ah here we go! I wrote a little article about this back when I got it... planet-geek.com/2017/10/16/v...

A recent post by @sardonic.systems made me think about classic mugs - I found this one when helping a fellow move his collection, and had to grab it for my shelf. Classic mugs are the best.

Old full size floppy drives, particularly Apple drives, have a very specific lever action on the door that clamps down the spindle and sets the heads in place. It’s enormously satisfying to then hear the drive spin to life and clatter along doing its job.

History channel musclin in on our space. (and that's just fine :)

Macintosh Powerbook G3 1997 - runs MacOS X with a 267 MHz PowerPC CPU and a whopping 384 meg of RAM. Startup time can be measured in "Number of Futurama episodes watched." But it is pretty!

Thinking happy retro Apple memories. The Apple eMate 300. 1997 (27 years ago!). Basically a Newton in laptop form, built for the educational market. Killed by Steve Jobs in 1998 :( For a full video, check out youtu.be/GgQ2gcomoxg

Now we’re talkin.

My last post made me want to tinker with the Treo more. Here’s a little video. www.youtube.com/shorts/I-LkS...

The Treo 650. Arguably the greatest step forward in 'smartphone' technology short of the iPhone. If you didn't have a Treo, you were seriously missing out. Introduced in 2004 , Intel XScale CPU at 312Mhz. Was the first handheld I ever read entire books on.
