@lionelhenry.bsky.social and I are so excited to finally announce Air - an extremely fast R code formatter! 🎉 With Air, you'll never need to worry about styling your #rstats code ever again. All you need to do is save, and Air takes care of the rest. www.tidyverse.org/blog/2025/02...

Writing about the beauty of the temporary things; it's perhaps a bit too poignant in these times, but I drafted this a while ago and finally got around to finishing it. www.visruth.com/prose/epheme...

Just made a S7 thing I've been working on public. Please check it out! www.visruth.com/blog/bignum/ #rstats

I wrote a blog post a few days ago about infinite lists in R. My implementation is suboptimal, but I found it interesting. www.visruth.com/blog/infinite/ #rstats

Great post that captures the tension between classic ML approaches and modern deep learning while acknowledging the nuances of both. “Working with LLMs doesn’t feel the same. It’s like fitting pieces into a pre-defined puzzle instead of building the puzzle itself.” www.reddit.com/r/MachineLea...

My award winning stats joke of the week: Why are Bayesians anxious but trustworthy? They have credibility but no confidence!

when you try to convert your text into smaller pieces but all it gives you is Elvish, that’s a tolkienizer

#webR never ceases to surprise me! Does anyone know of resources that explain how it works at a relatively high level?

Public promise to future self: attempt Advent of Code in #OCaml. First AoC and a good motivation to learn and apply OCaml + functional programming principles. If it gets too tough maybe I'll just swap to #rstats or #julialang and then still not finish the problems. But I shall try!

What is it about R that inspires love, devotion, and creativity in us? This talk is a journey through the many things that make R gloriously weird. Dr. Kelly Bodwin @kellybodwin.bsky.social Associate Professor of Statistics and Data Science, Cal Poly www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOQB... #RStats

Hi #rstats Twitter. Since many of you were on other platforms for a while, wanted to share that we have been busy building Tidier.jl for #JuliaLang. The goal? All of tidyverse, written in 100% Julia. Check it out: tidierorg.github.io/Tidier.jl/dev/ JuliaCon 2023 intro: youtu.be/ZVvP7rAIvkE?...

I'm not really looking to get sucked into any silly #rstats dialect wars - been there, done that - but I did write up my opinion on this stuff a few months back: rdatatable-community.github.io/The-Raft/pos...

Going to start a bespoke recsys that pairs blog posts like wine tastings. For your consideration, the first pairing, read these back to back. One: www.seangoedecke.com/how-to-ship/ Two: ludic.mataroa.blog/blog/why-i-w...

Incredibly excited to see Steve Wozniak talk!

FWIW I made a lil #rstats post last week if you want to read something quick and light: kbodwin.github.io/paRticles/po...

S7 is fantastic and I can't wait to see it be part of base! It's quite elegant and I thoroughly enjoyed using it recently. S7/10 would recommend.

S7 0.2.0 is now on CRAN, thanks primarily to the hard work of @t-kalinowski.bsky.social. S7 is a collaborative effort to supersede S3 and S4 and you can read all about it (and what's new in 0.2.0) at www.tidyverse.org/blog/2024/11... #rstats
