In the meantime, I have taken down all the acres of curtains for the living room (3 windows, one vast) and washed them. They're billowing on the whirligig now with the ones from my study and from the spare room (rather nice ones from Laura Ashley by way of a charity shop, with sweet peas on them)-

Today is my husband's final service in these parishes. This benefice has been our home for 12 years. We begin our move a week tomorrow (hopefully, but we're waiting to hear if the tenants of the new house have moved tomorrow). Lot of emotions.

Everything to do with Musk should be shut out of European markets. He wants to destroy us. It’s pretty easy to not let him. Close the door on him.

I’m busy writing reports for Species Recovery Trust. Amazing how you begin to see trends when surveys across many sites & years come together. Field Gentian seems sensitive to subtle changes in grazing (esp rabbits) & weather patterns. Hence big annual fluctuations overlaying longer trends.

Hi - does anyone know of a good counsellor, either in the Devon area or online, who is sympathetic to Christianity and who specialises in recovery from spiritual abuse?

First calling someone a retard is a horrendous slur which has no place in public discourse, but this is a perfect encapsulation of the vile, small dick energy, nerd reich, incel, Neanderthal, loudmouth behaviour we have now come to expect from the small minority of white supremacist, shit gibbons.

How to make a pet bed from an old blanket..

Really getting real now; I picked up the stickers from the stationery shop, the ones with our new address on. <gulp>

A chill, creative day working from home. For some this may be seen as a perk, but as an autistic person this is a necessity. I am lucky to be permitted this flexibility but the culture of presenteeism, and inflexible working, is one of the reasons so few autistic adults have full time work!

The fall. A poem.

Fall into winter: a time of contraction: we do contract with the seasons and that is why it's often more difficult in the fall and winter. I used to think it was a huge setback but I now see it as a natural rhythm. beyondmeds.com/2016/10/04/f...

The fam are away visiting grands in the north, so I am occupying myself with a metric fuck-tonne of housework ahead of the move in <gulp> ten days (ish). Today I tackled the dining room. The window sill is populated by a lot of very vigorous house plants, ones that like partial shade -

If you'd told me these were ancient vases I'd have believed you. So intricate!

Came close to setting myself on fire this evening. Silly me. That's what being tired and clumsy will do.

Weeks of devastation, watching our scientific enterprise unravel. Scientists/practitioners at NSF, NOAA, USGS, USDA, NPS, NIH, CDC... are tackling the greatest challenges, improving the lives of so many, protecting nature, and unraveling the world's mysteries.

@whimsicalmuse.bsky.social is a joy every day. For a bookseller he has elaborated on an eternal truth, one we need to cling to, as we do that rolling ladder.

I love my stick! No-one else seems to lichen it though 😓

I'm sorry but Paddington Bear is a better role model than Andrew Tate. Paddington is kind and polite. he spends an entire summer working in the hopes of buying a book for his great-aunt. and he has not been credibly accused of sex trafficking.

also that allies are not the ones most severely impacted and thus have a level of detachment from the consequences of their actions towards/regarding those they believe they are allies to. it's important to always listen to the actual people, rather than assume you know what's best for them.
