3 years ago russia started its brutal war in 🇪🇺 against 🇺🇦 I want to thank our defenders, among whom is my uncle who served at the battlefront🙏🕯, our allies, and all of you around the world who helps and believes in us. More than ever, this world needs our unity, courage, and justice

Congratulations Laura Avinyo! @lauavinyo.bsky.social and Heura Cardona! First paper of your PhD 🎉. doi.org/10.1242/dev.... Beautiful quantified trajectory of how the skeletal pattern of the gene Sox9 emerges during limb development. @embl.org @barcelonacollaboratorium.com

A perfect start in the new year! 🌱 Regenerating tissues are just an amazing spatio temporal controlled process! Our new manuscript explores how cell heterogeneity and bistability orchestrate intestinal regeneration. 🧵 biorxiv.org/cgi/content/...

Excited to share the first paper from my lab 🤩 - a great collaboration with Dani Fachinetti lab - we discover a #mechanosensitive nuclear envelope #checkpoint that arrests cells directly post chromosome mis-segregation rdcu.be/d5AC9 👇🧵 #cancer #mechanics #p53 #chromatin

#introduction - good morning and Happy New Year! We're new here on Bluesky. We'll be using this platform to share news and research and inform about Loke CTR events and activities. Feel free to reach out with questions, or tell us what you'd like to see from us on here. 👋

📢 Save the date! We are excited to announce the International Dutch Embryo Model Meeting 2025 in Nijmegen (NL) on Thursday 27 March and Friday 28 March! Registration is open now. More information: ru.nl/en/about-us/... Big thanks to Hendrik Marks for taking the lead this time!

Have you ever wondered how your back formed? The human embryo makes a neural tube (future spinal cord) and somites (trunk muscle/bone) from ~d20. They’re formed at the same time and place, so we used human Trunk-like Structures (hTLS) to investigate their ‘co-development’… (1/7)

Happy New 25, everyone! ✨️ Let the challenges of a new year guide your actions and make changes, for 26 to become only better

Happy to share a new paper, a fun collaboration with, with Kat Hadjantonakis and Effie Apostolou reminding us that plasticity is central to development and therefore has both drivers and roadblock that underly it ->. www.cell.com/developmenta...

It is that time of the year again when @odedrechavi.bsky.social and I do our annual “your favorite paper of the year” thread. Now only on Bluesky! Please link to your favorite paper in the comments and say a few words why you loved it so much. Happy holidays and happy reading!

"Ants solving a geometric problem and it's amazing." This is a great example of 'emergent phenomenon': - None of the ants understand the problem they're solving. - None of them can see the whole shape. - A series of small decisions or rules add up to something with a new layer of complexity.

Really happy to share with you my last work from my time in @embl.org with the @viktri08.bsky.social group. We studied the dynamics of cell fate transition in gastruloids and found that cells communicate with each other to control the timing of symmetry breaking. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

In 1999, we began organising Practical Courses on Developmental Biology with M Allende, first in Santiago and later in stunning Quintay, Chile. Over 25+ years, we’ve trained hundreds of students in DevBio, with over 90% becoming PIs in the field! Join us in celebrating 25 years of teaching DevBio

Some piece of bluesky to end this year ✨️ Enjoy your holidays, everyone ❄️ Merry Christmas! 🎄☃️

I didn’t see a general starter pack for people in the #BME and #BioE communities so I started to put one together. Let me know if I’ve missed anyone in particular or if you’d like to be added! #ScienceSky #AcademicSky go.bsky.app/9nMCGLK

There are so many #morphogenesis researchers here! My first starter pack is full! Here is Part 2: go.bsky.app/K6YYKeC #devbio #cellbio #science Tell me if I should add you but try to make sure, that you're not already in Part 1. I cannot cross-reference everyone 😅 Part 1: go.bsky.app/RzDD9or

Thrilled to share our new manuscript on how force transmission can regulate mechanical cell competition! Fun collaboration between the @bladoux.bsky.social / @rmmege.bsky.social and the Doostmohammadi group combining experiments and simulations. Main points below 👇 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Thank you @snsf-ch.bsky.social for supporting my postdoctoral research in maternal-fetal dialog @Turco lab, @fmiscience.bsky.social! Looking forward to a lot of fun science ahead! 🤩🚀

Hi Bluesky community! 👋 Are you looking forward to 2025 as much as we are? 👀 We just updated our 2025 Annual Poster to include even more events for you to join, so go and have a look! ➡️ s.embl.org/poster-bl #EMBLEvents #molecularbiology #lifesciencetraining

📣 Please share: We’re hiring a tenure-track Group Leader in Multicellular Systems to explore the molecular and cellular mechanisms driving the formation, maintenance, or destabilization of tissues, organs and organisms. Apply at: www.fmi.ch/education-ca...

Even though there are great #devbio and #biophysics starter packs, I felt #morphogenesis & #organogenesis was missing as a subfield :D Far from complete or full. Tell me if you want to be added! go.bsky.app/PB6s8PQ
