Hagan Scotten's resignation letter to DOJ in protest of dropping charges against Adams is worth reading in full. Principled patriotism. 🔥🔥🔥

Standing by Ukraine is just as much about human rights as it is about smart geopolitics.

With this and Eric Adams, the inescapable conclusion is that any kind of political corruption needs to be prosecuted by states in addition to federal prosecutors.

Trump's call to annex Gaza is really really bad. But just like the annexation of Canada, Greenland, and Panama, it's not going to happen. In the meantime, what *is* happening is the steady destruction of the entire Federal government and the dismantling of our democracy. Focus.

Congestion pricing polling highlights - 50% of Rs, 54% of NYC suburbanites think Trump should leave program alone. 66% of people who drive to CBD few times a week support. Drivers support MORE than transit users, probably because they've experienced the benefits most. pfnyc.org/news/new-pol...

All those people who refused to vote for Harris over Gaza are at least partly responsible for this. Among the greatest tragedies that has consistently befallen the Palestinian people has been the treatment they receive from their "allies" around the world. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...

"We’re going to have Sandy-type events that are going to leave a lot of homes uninhabitable.” New York City risks losing 19,000 homes to floods and storms over 15yrs. Resilience investments are essential + a clean energy transition to stop this from getting worse. www.thecity.nyc/2025/02/04/f...

I'll preface this by saying I know nothing about trade policy, but I don't believe this will happen. The US + Europe levied heavy sanctions on Russia. In response, imports shot up from countries like Azerbaijan. The same will happen here. Colombia will route coffee through its neighbors.

Important to remember that renewables aren't being built (solely) to boost environmental outcomes, but to meet basic energy needs. www.rechargenews.com/markets/ener...

I sincerely don't understand why this matters.

Electric vehicles will be built and they will be sold in increasing numbers. The question is will it happen fast enough to avoid catastrophic levels of warming and will US policy make sure we don't fall behind in this titanic economic shift.

New data shows that late school bus arrivals fell by 48% in the congestion relief zone after congestion pricing launched. nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/01/17/c...

The biggest problem with congestion pricing which covers the area of Manhattan below 60th is that it should have covered the area below 220th. www.northjersey.com/story/news/t...

You guys, six years later, this is still the best research and messaging on the clean energy transition out there. It has as many lessons for advocates as it did for the utilities that commissioned this research. 🔌💡 www.vox.com/energy-and-e...

Progress is possible. 🎉🍾🥳🎊👏

After 50+ years, congestion pricing is finally active in New York City. We did it!

“…disabled people are actually less likely to drive than nondisabled people and more likely to get around by walking and rolling and taking transit. Car-heavy cities are also disproportionately dangerous for disabled folks…” @nondriver.bsky.social in @motherjones.com #Accessibility

This place has the juice! (derogatory)
