Ruining something that works well might be how you tell it’s the GOP at work.

Let’s make the message loud and clear.

I love my Gov.

This is infuriating.

As predicted, women in New Hampshire had a hard time voting yesterday because of the new proof of citizenship law: “It doesn’t have my married name on it,” she said. Town voting officials then sent her away a second time, to get her marriage certificate. www.nhpr.org/nh-news/2025...

A vital reminder not to normalize corruption. youtu.be/hycoCYenXls

Our financial adviser openly scoffed when we moved $ to safer options immediately post-presidential election. Wonder if he still thinks the current President will be great for the stock market?

They ARE going after seniors next. It’s not just Social Security: housing programs for seniors and veterans are also likely to be cut. Families will have to choose between multi-generational households or homeless elderly. Sadly, I’m not kidding.

Sadly, this feels so true.

Want to see the Common Cause ad that WaPo was too scared to run? Here’s the link: www.commoncause.org/articles/jef...

Yup

Forget flowers and chocolate. My true love installed a light in the front hall closet where I’ve been losing stuff for the 5+ years we’ve lived here and it’s like a gold mine in there. Wowza.

Yikes. Combine DOGE with GOP budget plans plus the harm to consumer confidence and we’re screwed.

In a country that relies on consumer sentiment to fuel growth, there’s trouble ahead, especially when refusing to buy is one of the few options for rebelling against the party in power. I’m holding tight to my wallet. www.reuters.com/markets/us/u...

Useful but scary…

This is so true.

Too true

Yup. And now I want to vomit.

The forced retirement of David Lebryk at Treasury is a big deal. It’s how Pres Musk and VP Trump plan to weaponize every dime the federal government dispenses. Pay attention—it’s scary stuff! www.reuters.com/world/us/sen...

This is true for me.

Of course consumer confidence is down! This survey concluded on the day of Trump’s inauguration; my prediction is that the results in February will be far worse. It’s hard to see a bright future ahead when the nation’s new leadership is erratic and untrustworthy. www.reuters.com/markets/us/u...

This needs to hit the headlines

I feel like we are headed for the Dark Age.

Absolutely

This feels more true every moment.

This is very scary authoritarian behavior. www.axios.com/2025/01/22/t...

Dear WaPo, Those pardoned by tRump are not “Jan. 6 defendants.” They are “Jan. 6 convicted criminals.”

People came together Saturday to build bunk beds for the Next Steps Family Resilience Center in Beloit. For me, it was a weekend resistance activity to help make Monday tolerable.

Will the incoming administration and their friendly Fox News hosts be like the fools who are too “cool” to wear hats and gloves even in sub-zero temps? Seems predictable to me.

Our home burned when I was 7. Grandparents took us in but the loss of familiar routines and possessions plus uncertainty about the future made life so stressful. Those feelings must be magnified so many times for people in CA as entire communities turn to ashes. It’s so very sad.

The “jackpot” shelf at my library features popular books that typically take weeks on a waiting list to access. If they are on the shelf you can check them out, but only for 2 weeks w/ no renewals. Love it!

I am looking forward to using this title throughout Vice President Trump’s term.

The steady stream of new follows from self-involved, preening men is alarming. WTH????

I hammer this home to all my acquaintances who claim o be “pro-life.”

Exactly.

Well said

Love this!

This is fascinating.

A vile referendum opposition group formed when I was on school board. After 2 yrs+ of small-town nastiness, our core group decided social consequences were needed. Those who behaved badly to others would not be invited to the good stuff or welcomed to have fun w/us. BlueSky feels like that.

The movie Wicked feels so relevant to our times that I’m almost hesitant to praise it, since that might keep some right-leaning people from going to see it. I loved it, BTW.

There’s just a few colorful fall leaves still lingering on my street.
