I rewatched Kenneth Branagh's "Belfast" for the fifth time today. There are many films I've watched twice but few that I would view this many times. There aren't many that are this full of care and sweet sweet remembrance of youth. Highly recommended.

I had a sudden memory today of the first time I saw elvish runes while reading Tolkien for the first time after finding the books in our school library. Knew immediately that this was some stuff that would stay with me forever. That was fifty years ago. Did I just hear a thrush knock?

As a life long music junkie I've heard so many great songs. One that repeatedly slays me is "God only knows" by Brian Wilson. It is hard to top that kind of transcendent harmony, moving chord structure and lyrical content combined. Thanks Brian.
