This cat led a life. Committed leftist, merchant marine, reporter (went to Biafra) and wrote an article for Esquire that inspired the creation of the Peace Corps. Absolutely knocked out by this collection of short stories. @nyrb-imprints.bsky.social

Man… William Boyle just killing it with this novel. Like the best fiction, turns the specifics of the local into the big heart punches of the bigger world. Picked it up from my fave local indie bookstore, The Book Shop in East Gnashville @wmboyle4.bsky.social

Another great one from Victor Serge… Based on his experiences fleeing Paris as the Nazis invaded. Eventually making it to Marseille and getting the last boat out…as always, #nazipunksfuckoff @nyrb-imprints.bsky.social

Wait! A Republican giving a “Roman salute”? So out of character…

And here we are…

Another great read from Cesar Aira and @ndbooks.bsky.social

Just outside Clarksville, TN, someone prepping for the medieval times coming at us soon…

Just recently got hip to the writer Izumi Suzuki and to the harpist Zeena Parkins. Cool to find out that Zeena Parkins and Ikue Mori’s project, Phantom Orchard just released an album, Hit Parade of Tears, inspired by Suzuki’s short stories.
