What a day! Recording breaking February day for solar generation with almost 25 kWh generated from our 4.7kWp array.

Love the way that smart home energy systems make the best use out of home solar generation. Lovely day and we’re already generating 2kW that’s simultaneously powering a small heater and charging the battery and hot water tank.

As Spring draws closer, it’s great to get back to a situation where you can be a net contributor to the local energy network.

Looking forward to spending the evening sharing my positive experiences of living with a heat pump. Event is part of a WMCA-funded net zero neighbourhood project. Smart technology show home is the ideal venue - heat pump is currently chilling the milk! #CommunityBEES @vaillantuk.bsky.social

Another day with plenty of sunny spells. Now an opportunity to export some of the stored energy to the neighbours. @octopus.energy

Shaping up to be a good week for solar generation. End of February always seems to be a time of year when the solar yield really picks up after the dull dark months of winter. Hope others are seeing the same today… 🌞

Another week and a much clearer that Spring is on its way. @petergibbs.bsky.social

Enjoyable day spent visiting friends in Fife.

After days of dull and overcast conditions, it’s a joy to see some bright sunny skies today. Hope others with solar PV are also waking to a brighter day.

Delightful walk over Carrock Fell and back along the Caldew Valley. Scenic and diverse with an English bothy, former tungsten mine and a juniper “forest”. Such a beautiful part of the North Lakes. @cumbriawildlife.bsky.social

Come in to get my Kona Electric service and found my dealership has changed. First time I’ve seen Jaecoo in the metal. Not my cup of tea but amazing value. £33k for a fully loaded PHEV SUV with decent electric range. Apparently they’re selling really well as a result.

Fabulous run out into the hills around Dufton with Eden Runners tonight. Fell run with a beer and wood-fired pizza to finish. What’s not to like!

Fossil fuel dominance is based on many fallacies. That is the clearest signal that their time is running out. knowledge.energyinst.org/new-energy-w...

Cumbria home energy stats for January. Best ever January for solar yield with almost 200kWh generated from our 4.7kWp array. Hope this is a positive sign for the year to come.

Really enjoyable morning spent planting 200m of hedgerow in Crosby Ravensworth with their tree planting group. Bonus of a pint and a bacon butty in the Butcher’s Arms afterwards. It’s these kinds of community activity that give me hope. @cumbriawildlife.bsky.social

Great to get back outdoors now that the storm has passed.

Thanks to @ember-energy.org for providing some positive news at the end of the week… ember-energy.org/latest-insig...

Rather disappointing amount but I’m going to give tonight’s @octopus.energy saving session a go to see if the Powerwall opts to discharge some power. Go team “North West No Watts”! #SavingSessions

Which country has the largest share of solar PV in terms of capacity installed? It’s the Netherlands. Source is @iea.org

Been treated to some beautiful sunrises and sunsets in Cumbria recently. One of those simple pleasures…

One of those special days. Suspecting they’ll be plenty of people today with some fond memories of a spectacular and atmospheric day in Lakeland.

Looking forward to a day in Edinburgh with family and as we speed through the borders I’m reflecting on the wonderful combination of renewables and efficient, electrified transport. Excited by the prospect of an energy future where we use more than we waste.

After a day spent indoors yesterday it felt like a treat to get outdoors this afternoon and get a taster of the landscapes in Herefordshire.

Rare day spent indoors and an opportunity to look at our home energy stats. Another poor solar month with 129kWh generated. Battery has again done the hard work insuring the majority of the grid draw was off peak at 7p/kWh.
