I enjoy taking on walking ultra challenges, most sports, #ITFC, 70s & 80s music, but mainly spend my weekends watching & blogging about lower tier #NonLeague & #womensfootball. www.wanderingtractor.uk

Do you like football? Do you consider yourself a groundhopper? Are you over 16? Please take part in our study: qualtrics.kcl.ac.uk/jfe/form/SV_... It takes roughly 10 mins and is anonymous. Please retweet + share! #groundhopping #groundhoppers #NonLeague #Nonleagueday @sashaclicks.bsky.social

Looking forward to this 👍

Here we go! A family visit to the Midlands allowed us to travel further south this weekend A trip to Edgar Street for Hereford FC v Alfreton Town and what a wonderful ground it is, too! 😍 All RTs, feedback etc are most welcome 🖤🤍🤝🤍🖤 #Hereford #TheBulls hoppersguide.com/hereford-fc-...

Walked past this tree in the local park today and either someone is messing with my head or the squirrels in the area are a whole lot more sophisticated than I imagined 🙂

My #blog & match report from yesterday's @isthmianleague.bsky.social match between Three Bridges and Broadbridge Heath is now online. Just click the link below. wanderingtractor.uk/hangin-tough/ #nonleague #grassrootsfootball

Off on a journey to West Sussex today to visit a new ground for the Three Bridges v Broadbridge Heath Isthmian South East match. Three train connections needed each way so anything could happen! Should be fun though! 👍

My 2025 step back & renew is nearly complete. New... Laptop Mobile Glasses Passport Finished advanced Excel course Added to research in my family tree Birthday tomorrow so now time to think about what new experiences could lie ahead for the next year or so. Going to a gig in Germany is one... 🙂

My second #blog match report of the weekend comes from a welcome return to Woodley United Ladies for their #SRWFL Premier Division game with Selsey Women. wanderingtractor.uk/cold-wind-bl... An enjoyable game on a fresh old day despite the sunshine! #womensfootball #grassroots

Here's my first #blog & match report for a while! Click the link below to catch up with yesterday's Combined Counties Premier North match between @wokinghamtown.bsky.social and Wallingford & Crowmarsh. wanderingtractor.uk/rain-on-me/ #NonLeague #grassroots

Enjoyed my day out at @wokinghamtown.bsky.social today. Always good to catch up with some friendly faces. The hosts lost out 2-1 to Wallingford & Crowmarsh in a hard fought game on a testing surface. Great hospitality, excellent food (chilli & chips) & a decent game of football. #NonLeague

There was a wedding reception in the local Spoons today which was interesting. 🫤

New for @terraceedition.bsky.social Griffin Park: Black and white. Looking back at Brentford's old home. A pub on every corner. Double decker dreams. Gone but not forgotten. #BrentfordFC 📸 www.terraceedition.com/home-haute/g...

Worked out my next 8 #NonLeague fixtures and they are all new grounds for me. Games in Sussex, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Essex and a couple in or around London. It's a good job I've got a Network Railcard! 🚉🚄🛤️

I'll be changing things up with the Wandering Tractor next season, fewer matches, trips to different sports and blogs on any charity events I take on. You'll still be able to read match reports from games I attend but I'll also be writing more #NonLeague based articles & blogs for other outlets. 🙂

In the local spoons today having a lovely pint of Buffalo from the Evan Evans Brewery. A lovely pint. 🙂

Two local matches for me this weekend. A first visit to @ymcafc.bsky.social and a chance to test out their award winning match day experience on Saturday. Then onto Farnham Town Women v Carshalton Athletic Women in the Surrey Divisional Cup semi final on Sunday. Reports to come from both. 👍

We're Hitting The Road on 8th March to shine the spotlight on @ymcafc.bsky.social - winners of our Matchday Experience award in 2024. We'll be joined by special guest @paul-c-watson.bsky.social Watson. There will be a limited edition programme for the match against AFC Winkfield - see comments.

One last repost of our review from Whitby Town's Turnbull Ground All RTs and likes, feedback etc are very much appreciated 👍 #nonleague #nonleaguefooty hoppersguide.com/whitby-town-...

Catch up with my latest #blog & match report from Saturday's @berkscountyfc.bsky.social v Harefield United game by clicking the link below. wanderingtractor.uk/sunset-now/ #NonLeague #grassrootsfootball #grassroots #Step4

Off on my travels again today, this time heading to the Brentford Women v Comets Capital Cup match at Bedfont Sports. 👍 #womensfootball #grassroots

It finished Egham Town 3 London Lions 1 in the #FAVase today. Egham took the lead through Boakya after 18 mins before Lions levelled just before the break through Perkins. A superb save from Tobin kept the hosts level before late goals from Mitchell & Muhemba saw them through. #NonLeague #grassroots

Off to Egham Town today for their rearranged #FAVase 4th round tie with London Lions. The winners will be away to AFC Whyteleafe in the last 16. #NonLeague #grassroots #grassrootsfootball

Here's a follow up #blog to a piece written two years ago about my introduction to #womensfootball and adds a few thoughts on the changes I've seen over the past couple of years in the local women's game. wanderingtractor.uk/two-years-on/ Hope you enjoy it!

Match blog from Sunday's Women's Southern Region Div.1 South clash at Westleigh Park. Havant & Waterlooville v Wimborne Town www.botp.co.uk/blog/the-pro...

Catch up with my latest #blog & match report from yesterday's Ashridge Park Women v Wantage Town Ladies #TVCWFL Cup tie. Just click on the report below. 🙂 wanderingtractor.uk/stellar-perf... #womensfootball #grassroots #HerGameToo

No football for me today, not because the game was postponed but due to our lousy train service not being able to run any trains after a little frost. With the Egham game being postponed I still have an outside chance of keeping my #FAVase run going if their game is rearranged for next Saturday 🤞

YOUR OPINION MATTERS KLAXON 🚨 We know there will be strong feelings on this subject, but where is the best place to stand to watch a lovely game of #nonleague football?

I've got a bit of time off in between jobs so today I'm starting an Excel course. I've always worked with Excel but it's all been self taught so thought I'd take this opportunity to fill in a few of the gaps in my knowledge. 🙂

Here's this week's #blog & match report from one of only two Berkshire games played thanks to the cold snap. @berkscountyfc.bsky.social v @holyportfc.bsky.social Just click the link 👍 wanderingtractor.uk/cold-as-ice/ An entertaining game with a couple of talking points! #NonLeague #grassroots

Interesting game at Berks County today, @holyportfc.bsky.social ahead & totally in control for much of the game but on the wrong end of a couple of howlers. It's going to be fun writing up this one, especially the contentious decisions given (or not!) in the second half! #NonLeague #grassroots

If things work out over the first half of 2025 then looking forward to: 28 February-2 March North West Counties hop 14-16 March Scottish hop 4-6 April Hop in Germany 17-20 April South West Peninsula hop 25-27 July United Counties League hop What plans have you got?

Just completed another food at the footy review and thinking about writing a half season review blog tomorrow. I'm thinking of doing a few more stand alone articles, especially on local #womensfootball, to go alongside the weekend match reports next season. Something to mull over. 🙂

Match blog from yesterday's Western league Division 1 clash between Devizes Town and Warminster Town www.botp.co.uk/blog/the-han...

Two new #blogs & match reports online today. Head to www.wanderingtractor.uk and check out my blogs from the game at @readingcityfc.bsky.social and a trip to Bottom Meadow to see Farnborough Women take on a US touring side, North FC, in a mid-season friendly. #NonLeague #womensfootball #grassroots

It's always a pleasure to meet up with @davewiththeflags.bsky.social especially when it's an early kick off and you have the chance to talk #womensfootball in the pub for a couple of hours afterwards! Hopefully catch you for similar in the new year! 👍

Thoroughly enjoyable day watching a friendly between Farnborough Women & a touring team from North FC in Ohio. Really enjoyed catching up with the Farnborough team & it was also a real pleasure to find out the story behind the visiting team. A #blog to come which will hopefully do it justice! 🙂
