Having a lot of problems on aiming and level changing stemming from a specific request for β€œpausing” a level once you leave. My friend is extremely patient with me testing and requesting changes but unfortunately I do want to move on 😭😭 I think I gotta cut my losses and do something simpler πŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜”

I did an oopsie on github and undid my progress last week :'D Was able to redo them. I'll have to learn how to do merge requests/pull requests properly

Watching up on concept art and what it entails. I know enough about drawing that I feel the need to plan ahead since I'm fairly confident in being able to draw(basest form), but am not sure how to make it impactful for my mechanics. #gamedev #indiedev

I said I'll stop, but the solution to connecting this to the spellcasting occured to me. I am able to disconnect the textt input from the code that handles the spells and connect the the textbox instead. So it turns out I need to set the value of the singleton through the singleton itself and not--

It's the second time I've said I'll remake the game but every time I bring it through one of my trusted friends, who agree with me, I lose the motivation ainnoway πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Lizard mechanic school work is picking up. Must step away from godot for a while...

current plan: draw skeletons (which i love doing) and then convert them into humans. this, oddly, results in much more emotive humans.

one thing i really like using for pixel art is a smudge tool with the rate set to 100% and hard edge on. it's great for changing proportions or working on gestures.

Thinking about getting started on some visual development (I think is the term) for Sapirica since the base mechanics are shaping up. I also want to start experimenting on the appearance and tone of the game. I wonder if its too early... I'll have to ask around.

Added a speech bubble for the input and am starting to work on the alternative shorter, left hand only inputs. Both of them use strings to hold input, and a temporary, imperfect solution I have is that the capslock key switches key input from spellcasting to the shorter code!

Some more typing tests! I've finally reached further into the tutorial I'm using to learn. This screen would be connected to the end screen as a pay-off to the build-up of the game. I also got targeting to work, so that should open up a lot of new possibilities as well. #gamedev #godot

Slowlu falling into the rabbit-hole of typing games and I'm not ashamed of it. I've seen amazing games that I couldn't even have dreamed off. I initially got into it looking for more references for my game but man do I want to experience these in their own right,

I might get procgen up my alley in the future. Maybe looking at some tutorials might get my brain unstuck. That, and I'm going to do reserach on Textorcist because it's pretty close to what I want my game to be like!

Struggling a bit with wanting to work on my project and on my university requirements. There's also my personal expectations on my project that I keep looking a few too many steps ahead than what is workable. I shall see you guys then o7

Im gonna be honest autofister feels too real sometimes like I'm watching a clip of them and I just go "That's literally me and thsi situationship I had wtf"

i keep feeling stressed then realizing i've fallen back into the trap of monetizing my hobbies so im going to add it to my bio, thats who i am, the hobby wanna be monetizer

I saw this tweet on twitter and I had to... #gamedev

www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmVN... Searched up gameplay video for this after seeing TheStellarJay review it and woah this is amazing. This is my dream game to play and make... man I wish I had VR and didnt get dizzy from it because it looks fukin amazing

Just saw my favorite youtuber played crosscode and dang I should really get back into it... The last time I've played it was a demo way long ago during my junior highschool days. It was so good.

Here it is for anyone interested! I'm cooking up a more streamlined version I'll upload soon. As it stands, the basic typing -> spell interaction can be experienced in the current version. Do let me know how the spellcasting and dispelling feels! #gamedev klepton.itch.io/sapirica

Making an Itch page for my prototype to finish the train of thought for the prototype that is this project. I'm proud of the mechanics, though I think I've bitten more than I could chew especially if I go polish this up. #gamedev

I've researched some guides and decided I'm not going to port my project to Godot 4 unless I have a really good reason, and I've asked my programmer friend if there's a way to implement one of the tacked on features I want without reworkign everything and he said there should be.
