I'm pretty sure this is in Calgary, Alberta, Canukistan.

🤭 As seen along 9th Avenue, just by Gulf Canada Square. #Calgary #Alberta

Wow! YVR earthquake that I sure felt. No damage but that's scary.

Love this.

Poignant.

Pierre Poilievre doesn't hate *all* media - just the ones who hold him accountable. To him, they’re a “small cabal of government-approved mouthpieces.” That’s what he told Candice Malcolm, co-founder of True North (and wife of a Shopify executive) in a recent one-on-one sit down. Oh, the irony.

Check list of things a Canadian can do about the USA: - Vote regularly and at every government level - Buy Canadian - Don't travel to the USA Hmm... List feels short. Any other ideas?

Jesus christ, was I giving him ideas?

I always knew Jen St. Denis was Powerful but now it's official: she made the Vanmag power list this year (#19)! It's a thrill being part of @thetyee.ca team with @jenstden.bsky.social and hearing what she's up to. Nice to see journos recognized in this space. www.vanmag.com/city/power-5...

This is indeed a great primer on the topic...

Nice catch!

While what’s happening in the U.S. right now may not seem as dramatic as book burnings from the past, this level of data wipe and censorship comes from the same place: eliminating public records of certain groups of people existing.

Great little piece to watch. ..

I've gotten a few replies about this and I will just say I think a lot of people who follow the news underestimate the extent to which other people absolutely do not follow the news. For better or worse, celebrities/athletes weighing in on something gets through a lot of low-information bubbles

Welp. Get caught up on all your vaccines, folks.

Thursday & Saturday at the Hold On Let Go festival: Raven Mother is the Dancers of Damelahamid’s newly choreographed dance work in honour of late Elder Margaret Harris (1931 – 2020). It illustrates the vast impact Elder Harris had on the revitalization of Indigenous dance along the Northwest Coast.

www.cbc.ca/news/canada/... Gee Ms.Smith, diplomacy AND a billion spent on amped up border security to prevent fentanyl from crossing south. Can you imagine what that money could do if it was spent on increased Canadian enforcement and addiction treatment? No. I guess not.

That was handled nicely! But it's worth mentioning that most of the trade deficit is caused by energy imports of oil, gas and electricity. If those are removed, there is a trade surplus.

The news is so stressful, maybe I’ll try to take my mind off it with my favorite candy — AW FUCK

The tariffs being paused is good news for Canada and Canadian workers. It means standing up to Donald Trump’s threats is working. But his threats won’t stop. We need to make our economy less reliant on unreliable allies. We need to buy Canadian and build Canadian to create good jobs here.

C'mon Scott, you sound like a toadie.

That's the end game. Right now it's about creating chaos to get even more nefarious stuff in and under the radar.

RONALD REAGAN (1988): We should be aware of the demagogues who are ready to declare a trade war against our friends, weakening our economy, our national security, and the entire free world—all while cynically waving the American flag.

Nice idea but I'm unsure it's legally possible. Prove me wrong. Please.

Eby did a good job. Fortunately, it wasn't one of those prime time, rabid "journalists" though. What I did notice is the way the interviewer smiled when the 51st state topic came up. Americans really don't take us very seriously. To them, we seem quaint.
