Wow. 20+ DOGE staffers just resigned en masse, saying they refuse to use their expertise to “dismantle critical public services.” “We swore to serve the American people... However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.”

This budget bill would cut food, nursing home assistance and affordable health care for 70 million Americans, but add $100 billion for military + $4.5 trillion for tax cuts. MAGA’s 1% wants to stuff their pockets, while children & elderly starve, get sick and die. Call 202-224-3121 today.

Great advice for dems in this piece: "Taking cautious votes to save your seat in two years assumes we’ll still have a democracy in which to run if we don’t take a stand now. I’m under no such illusions. Democrats need to put everything on the line to protect that future." shorturl.at/e66G3

"One way in which the establishment maintains its power is by creating a dominant discourse from which dissidents’ views are excluded. Public demonstrations and marches empower people by showing them that there are thousands of people who think the same things." shorturl.at/Ocjhv

Brave, inspiring choice. The lyrics to Do You Hear the People Sing: Do you hear the people sing? Singing a song of angry men? It is the music of the people - Who will not be slaves again! Will you join in our crusade? Who will be strong and stand with me?

"Progress isn’t always linear, but it is always possible. For those feeling disheartened, know this: setbacks are part of the journey, but they don’t define the outcome. Your voice, your effort, and your persistence matter. Together, we will keep moving forward.” - Stacey Abrams

Always good to put this reminder from RaeShanda Lias on repeat before reading the news.

El Capitan displays a massive American flag upside down—the traditional signal of distress or extreme emergency.

New in PN: AOC shows how to fight back and stand strong "Prominent figures standing up can undermine the climate of fear that MAGA relies on to impose terror. AOC’s work on behalf of her constituents and refusal to be intimidated are models of resistance other Democrats would do well to imitate."

Recognizing the power of the people & what brought many of us here: more than 115,000 users deactivated their accounts on Musk's X the day after the presidential election. Traffic on Bluesky soared, with daily usage climbing 500% in the U.S. Users were at 9m in Sept, 12m in Oct (source: NPR)

Something is shifting. They are still breaking things and stealing things. And they will keep trying to break and to steal. But the propaganda magic around the oligarchical coup is fading. (1/2)

Thousands of people marched in DC in solidarity with Ukraine and against impunity by oligarchs like Trump and Putin. They gathered outside the Russian embassy. #3E #EndOligarchy #EndImpunity #USprotests #DCprotests #StandWithUkraine

"Our power has never come from having an easy path. Our strength flows from our faith in God, faith in each other, and refusal to surrender to cynicism and destruction. Not because it is easy, but because it is necessary. Not because victory is guaranteed, but because the fight is worth it."

Keep showing up, people!

In the depths of the Nebraskan winter, 2400 people came out to listen to Bernie Sanders in Omaha last night. 800 had to be turned away at the door. Over 190,000 tuned into the livestream. There is a movement to be harnessed here. @sanders.senate.gov (📸 Anna Bahr)

This is Union County, Oregon, where 68% voted for Trump in the last presidential election. At the Rep. Bentz town hall, the crowd shouted, “tax Elon,” “tax the wealthy,” “tax the rich” and “tax the billionaires.” tinyurl.com/6skj5sxf

“You’re made to feel crazy. You’re ‘over-reacting.’ And I don’t think we are. Patience? It’s a fool’s errand. I open the newspaper every day to fresh horrors. This is not a time for strongly worded letters. This is not a drill.” - Beth Champion, townhall in Oregon shorturl.at/BEDdF

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.
