Bullseye 🎯

This is a wild, WILD situation. The President is at least allowing, licensing these emails though clearly not directing them. Meanwhile parts of the uniformed military are directing civilians within DOD to ignore them. Same at State and according to Dilanian FBI. But DOJ is saying do what the ...

Hey, @djrothkopf.bsky.social - finally caught your thoughtful weekly with @normornstein.bsky.social Only misstep was the last few minutes when Norm was looking for billionaires that are on the Left to step up. I’d be interested in your and Norm’s thoughts on this - doesn’t appear to be a one-off.

Elon doesn't seem to understand how the federal government works.

This is the ultimate dick boss move from Musk - except he isn’t even the boss, he’s just a dick.

Another department tells its employees to ignore Elon…

I math-ed it out, and right now your DOGE dividend is on track to be $4.29. Let me show my work.

Trump perhaps a wee bit sensitive about the fact that most voters voted against him

Judges need to stop acting like these are good faith actors engaged in normal personnel practices. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/military-p...

I don’t know how many different ways to say that agency personnel don’t work for Elon. They don’t have to report to Elon. They report to their agency leadership, which reports to the President.

This is 100%. Almost everything in the constitution is general or implied. The document literally says there's going to be a post office and congress is in charge of setting it up, deciding what it's rules are.

Front page of CNN One constituent asked, “How can we be represented by you if you don’t have a voice in Congress?” "Two Republican Wisconsin congressmen received tough questions...from their constituents during town halls this week, adding to recent pushback from voters against...Trump’s actions"

Poland is paying for and will continue to finance Ukraine’s access to Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet system, according to Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski.

Victoria DeLano is one of thousands of federal probationary employees fired in recent days by the new Department of Government Efficiency team. At the time of her firing, she said she was the only Office of Civil Rights investigator based in Alabama. www.al.com/educationlab...

Interesting thing for the President to say about a person who, according the government’s lawyers, “has no actual or formal authority to make government decisions himself” and “only has the ability to advise the President, or communicate the President’s directives.”

So the President not only fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He also fired the top JAGs at the Army, Navy and Air Force. Those are the lead people who determine what is a legal order and what is not. So if you're planning to do things that are illegal they're the most obvious obstacle.

When even the New York Post has to publish this, you know you fucked up.

So. It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year. I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

Sure Trump fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the CNO....but they fired the top JAG's in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Why would you fire the top lawyers in the armed services at night on a Friday? That's the part you should be freaking out about.

When the wreckage and dust of what these people are doing to our country has settled and the people have finally had enough to throw these jackals out of office, we will never forget the people who enabled it, despite their protestations they weren’t willing accomplices. Never.

Democrats led by @raskin.house.gov launch attack on Trump's rapid-fire "pro-corruption" agenda of "endorsing bribery, quid-pro-quos, and related crimes and undermining the DOJ's commitment to good government and the rule of law." democrats-judiciary.house.gov/news/email/s...

Cuts to NSF expected to be at 50% reduction in force for an independent agency that fuels discovery and innovation. "The NSF budget was $9B, or 0.13% of the total [budget]." This is not about fiscal prudence. This is about killing universities. nanoscale.blogspot.com/2025/02/the-...

A must watch moment: Republican Sen Tom Tillis shows he may have a spine after all. I know it’s hard to believe, but he actually calls out Putin 👀 Thanks to @reallyamerican.bsky.social

(We wanted to get this published ASAP because this administration loves its Friday firings, so there's a nonzero chance Hegseth might fire generals tonight.)

“The energy transition is failing!” Just leaving this here…

JUST NOW: Trump again refuses to call Putin a “dictator”, despite calling Zelensky one repeatedly He will not criticize Putin

“I’m in West Virginia — My insulin went from $6 to $80”

The story here is really incredible. The DOGE boys go into an agency and fire half the staff without even knowing what the agency does. Yeah, that is really damn efficient.

"The larger dynamic is that Trump isn’t merely pushing to redefine the boundaries of the law or even the Constitution," Jonathan Chait writes. "He is rejecting the principle that the law constrains him at all."

White House rolls out new "precision" branding to explain how now they're only going to fire people who actually really really need to be fired. Meanwhile the mass firings continue unabated. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/preci...
