Pak’nSave has confirmed that a leaked image of former MP Golriz Ghahraman being questioned in-store over an alleged shoplifting incident originated from its own security system. A security guard passed the image to a third party without authorisation, and has since been fired. #nzpol

Supermarket finally admits its security guard leaked image of ex-MP shopping. Same problem in other stores. Auror combined with untrustworthy staffers is harmful. archive.is/WlDZ3

Our new parklets have been a success and I’m so glad this is working for our hospitality sector. Now imagine this all the way down Courtenay Place. Wellington will thrive. www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news/3605...

Any countries building Starlink into their telecom systems should be thinking twice right now.

James Cameron seems to have fallen into the trap that because he didn’t have it his way there was no consultation. The fact is that there was mass consultation (1800+ submissions), and we made a significant number of changes to respond to it. www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3605...

Tory Whanau is the first Wellington mayor in a generation to tackle head on the city’s twin crises of constrained housing supply and neglected water infrastructure and to do so by actually delivering a pro-housing district plan and a water investment programme capable of solving these problems. 1/

I have lodged a formal complaint with the charities regulator asking that Destiny Church’s charities be struck off because of serious wrongdoing last weekend in my Te Atatu electorate. 1/3

Just remember the Govt had data from 400 schools saying 91% of lunches were eaten and only an anecdote about waste.

The French Government sent its agents to Aotearoa to bomb the Rainbow Warrior - because Greenpeace and the nuclear movement were so effective in their campaign to stop nuclear testing. They thought they could scare us off, but they just made us stronger.

Ahh this. Was waiting for this and I’d like to see more of it.

Elon Musk's AI platform has been retrained to generate a "both sides" response to whether climate change is a threat. One is the view of science, while the other is fossil fuel industry waffle.

#nzpol Stats NZ measures child poverty on three measures – before housing costs, after housing costs, and material poverty. All three central estimates of poverty rose last year. This is the second year in a row in which the data is heading in the wrong direction. A 🧵

I feel like more needs to be made of this. It's been an overt attack in the House from the Deputy PM and Cabinet on the equal rights of citizens to participate in our electoral system, and any migrant or child of migrants should find it as chilling as I do.

I give you today's school lunch. The household statistician gave it a 0/10. Ate two bites then chucked it. He said there are lots of leftovers today. #nzpol

How very dare someone use the term "Aotearoa" as a te reo reference to the country called "New Zealand" in English?

Just checking I've got this right. You're not allowed to call another member of the house a liar even if you have evidence that have said something categorically not true. But you can say that an elected representative has less rights to speak in the house because they were born overseas

NZ has a big money in politics problem. The three governing parties took $500k from those with an interest in getting their fast track proposals approved, circumventing environmental protection laws. www.rnz.co.nz/news/in-dept...

Hooo boy. After a racist outburst from Winston, attacking Ricardo, Brownlee has determined that Aotearoa is not an acceptable way to refer to New Zealand. Mc Anulty raises the very serious point that Te Reo Māori is an official language and Members can speak in either English or Te Reo. #nzpol

How many more of these until someone in a position of power admits it's not working?

Out of control coalition partners. Overt racism. Weak PM. NZ First attacks Green MP for use of 'Aotearoa' during Question Time www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

"Peters said it was "totally appropriate" to challenge Menéndez March for referring to the country as Aotearoa without the mandate of the New Zealand people." *checks 2023 party vote results* Green Party of Aotearoa NZ: 330,907 NZ First: 173,553 *jazz hands* THAT'S A MANDATE, BABY

So Trump is blaming Ukraine for invading Russia? Oh no - for “having started it”. Jesus. What a fucking wanker.

This is why you fight these cowards. The moment you stand up to them, they crumble. Homan has nothing. The Fourth Amendment is clear and I am well within my duties to educate people of their rights. He can threaten me with jail and call names all he wants. He’s got nothing else.

I bet he is. One person died, one quit, a couple absconded, and apparently most of them have already reoffended. It's almost as if bootcamps are an expensive cruel boondoggle. I'm sure keeping the details quiet is much more comfortable for Luxon than revealing them. #nzpol

Even I was surprised by this. ACT can’t even be bothered to show up and listen to TPB submissions. Thanks to @duncanwebbmp.bsky.social for bringing this forward.

Chris Bishop moved the controversial fast-track legislation away from concerns of project viability and environmental impact

Can we just take a moment and a deep breath and recognise that "doubling our defence spending" means devoting an additional equivalent of 2.5 new Dunedin hospitals in societal resources to this EVERY SINGLE YEAR?

Wannabe seabed miner TTR is claiming it's done “thousands of hours” of marine mammal survey flights over the Sth Taranaki Bight (and found nothing). This is a complete fabrication. They've done NO surveys: missing in last year’s hearing & called for by the EPA in 2014 when refusing consent #nzpol

If 8 out of 10 of the Bootcamp kids have reoffended and 6 are back in state care, that is an epic fail. No wonder the government don't wanna say! #NZPol

Our takatāpui and rainbow whānau deserve to be treated with respect & dignity. It’s sad groups fuelled by hate are targeting our rainbow community and sadder to see “leaders” preying on our rangatahi to spill hate. Their ideology & aggressive ways are harmful and must be stopped! You are not alone 🌈

I'm saying this as somebody who's been at a lot of protests in NZ: if violence starts, it is *always* Destiny Church. Consistently. The only times I've been assaulted are by Destiny Church members. They are not a church, they are a violent hate group and people need to wake up to it.

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)
