Half my friends are sitting in electricity free apartments as this massive wind slams thru Los Angeles. The video footage from burning beachfront homes along PCH is heartbreaking. It feels like we got very little warning it would be this dangerous. Please stay safe everyone.

Since I joined Bluesky, three weeks ago, I have had zero comments, not one “like”, not even a single incident of pushback or trolling. I understand millions join every 24 hours. I’m out there liking posts left and right all day… I’ve got a pretty thick skin but it just feels deafeningly quiet.

All these Republicans, “blindsided” as family disown them, feels oddly like the stories from the ‘90s when people found out Memaw had been signing over months of Social Security checks to Jerry Falwell. Memaw swore up and down that everyone was overreacting until the car was repossessed.

The response from Republicans, being cut off or uninvited for the holidays, seems to be that it was “just an election”. They ignored the signs and dismissed all the pleas as Lib drama. It isn’t MAGA being cut off, it’s margin of victory, old school Republicans. They’ve fully earned being uninvited.

When I saw Wicked on B’way, months after it opened, it wrecked me because it seemed to be about the Bush years and “Go along/Get along” cowardice vs standing up for your beliefs. The film (which is amazing) could not be more relevant to today’s victory of lies and disinformation over honor.
