I photographed the south Peterborough first-winter Great Northern Diver (Common Loon) again, today. #UKBirding @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social

Why do ITV always have anti-English commentators for the Six Nations? The current knob is driving me crazy. Sounds English, but bloody loves Scotland.

Evidence that the south Peterborough Great Northern Diver (aka Common Loon; at Beeby's West Lake) can swim north as well as south. I am afraid I keep going back for more: I bloody love divers, me! @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social #UKBirding

Owls have surprisingly long legs and divers (aka loons) have surprisingly long necks. @CambsBirdClub #UKBirding

I revisited the West Beeby's Great Northern Diver is south Peterbrough this afternoon. The sun came out, so it would have been rude not to pay respects. @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social #ukbirding

Last Friday (7th) a first-winter Great Northern Diver was found in Peterborough, at Ferry Meadows CP. Yesterday, it was relocated at Beeby's West Lake 3 miles to the south. Still there this morning (in second photo, trying to fling off some 'weed' from its bill) @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social #UKBirding

Brown Hare taken by surprise up the Cradge Bank. Near Spalding, Lincs.

I had a rare two-Black Redstart day in south Peterborough, today. Firstly, I relocated the fem/1w (not seen since late December), near CEGB reservoir. And later, I found this rather tasty and obliging male near Beeby's West Lake (850m from the other bird). #UKBirding @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social

If the UK Labour Government really want growth in the economy, rejoining the EU would be a good start. Surely better than all the bonkers, ecocidal alterntives.

I'd much rather have a viable environment, healthy planet, and abundant biodiversity over bloody 'growth'. The Labour Government seem more interested in responding to the ridiculous "anti-growth coalition" taunts of Liz Truss than the concerns of their voters or the preservation of the planet.

Four more years of Trump and his weird fanny-throat. Once you've seen it, you can never unsee it.

Most raptors are doing pretty well around the Peterborough area, these days, Red Kites in particular. They are a constant sight over the city, and occasionally can come pretty close, as here. #UKBirding

I enjoyed Kirsty Wark on R4's Front Row discussing Bafta nominations and encouraging her guest to "put your neck on the table" about her predictions.

I hope the people of 'israel' don't celebrate the ceasefire as some kind of victory. There is nothing to celebrate about genocide and oppression. 'Israel' must be punished for what it has done. #BoycottIsrael #FreePalestine

If being treated in a hospital corridor is Hell, what do you call the situation in Gaza, where ’Israel’ has destoyed all hospitals?

Graham Potter was a dreadful manager at Chelsea. Let's hope he continues to be at West Ham.

I greatly enjoyed the tiny pause in the voice of the ever-professional Petroc Trelawney (on BBC Radio 3) as he just introduced the composer Samuel Scheidt. The urge to snigger/giggle must have been huge!

Does serial backer of terrible ideas, concepts and people, Dominic Cummings still exist as a thing, or does he just sit in his shed counting his lolly, dreaming of Barnard Castle?

How many more ex-military 'vets' will commit terrorist acts this year before people realise they are not all perfect saints and heroes, but are often damaged? It is bad enough in the US, but think of all those war criminal Israelis once they take a break from committing genocidal atrocities.
