The Gorge on Apple TV is at points a fairly decent action movie. The trouble is for the rest of the time it's a poor copy of the Love Actually Card Scene

What a week for Aimee Lou Wood in The White Lotus and Toxic Town: going from a 5 star resort in Thailand to Deindustrialised Northamptonshire.

Always a disaster when you forget how to use a fork #zeroday

I’m not saying security is lax at the very serious criminal organisation Reacher infiltrates in S3 but his DEA colleague got into the front seat of a van he was driving and no one noticed

A Complete Unknown: Giving Bob Dylan the Greatest Hits show he would never play

With the Night Agent and High Potential out in the UK this week is this streamers and TV stations heading back to the age of the procedural?

American Primeval out today on Netflix is certainly brutal and violent. But does that make it good? Unfortunately probably not

Finished Say Nothing today on Disney Plus. A truly exceptional adaption of the superb non fiction book. The show is equally thrilling and devastating while highlighting the contradictions and ambiguities of war. The cast are phenomenal and I can't recommend the series enough

Our final episode of the year is out now looking back at the best shows and films of 2024. We also review #BlackDoves, #AManontheInside & #ThatChristmas. Out wherever you get your podcasts open.spotify.com/episode/01di...

Another intriguing episode of Silo with hints that we might be getting answers but ultimately end up with more questions. Some brilliant physical work again from Rebecca Ferguson who deserves more awards recognition for her role as Juliette

Fans of sports documentaries should definitely watch The Comeback on Netflix about the 2004 Boston Red Sox Team. I had very little knowledge of baseball but was still gripped by this incredible sports story

Saw Monkey Man today. An incredible directorial debut from Dev Patel. I've never seen a film capture a place so vibrantly and the action sequences are unflinching, kinetic and brutal. A great watch for fans of John Wick

Well deserved winner. Was there any other choice?

Dune:Prophecy- A backstory to a backstory. When will TV shows tell the story they want to tell rather than just the history of the franchise

Another solid episode of Silo this week where the tension is constantly simmering though there is a sense the show is dragging its heels somewhat with Juliet elsewhere. The show is always elevated by the presence of Rebecca Ferguson

Shrinking is just great fun each week and uses its cast expertly with a different MVP every episode. It is worth watching for Harrison Ford alone who gets a rare chance to show how hilarious and tender an actor he can be

The hilarious What We Do in the Shadow's brilliant final season is now available in the UK on Disney plus. It has been consistently one of the funniest and silliest shows on TV and is very worth your time if you have never seen it.

Big news for fans of Vince Vaughn being Vince Vaughn while playing detective. Bad Monkey has been renewed for a second series at Apple. www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/b...

It would be nice to know who any character is in #Dune:Prophecy except Mark Strong or Emma Watson or the space pirate. Also why are HBO so obsessed with making their prequels all about people talking in dark rooms

Carry On is a superb thriller now on Netflix. The Christmas setting brings comparisons to Die Hard but it harks back to all classic 90's thrillers.Egerton brings necessary energy and charisma while the action scenes are tense and well shot. It's significantly better than the generic Netflix thriller

The Sticky tries to emulate Fargo but struggles to reach that high bar but it’s always fun to see Margo Martindale in any role especially a raging farmer

Few weeks behind the curve on this one but Kneecap on Prime is a superb film. It's a riot, surprisingly heartfelt for a film about drug dealing rappers and will make you want to fire up Irish on Duolingo and buy a tricolour balaclava

Interesting news for Scrubs fans today with reports of a reboot in the works with the original cast. After the misery that was Scrubs: Med School would a reboot be a good idea? variety.com/2024/tv/news...

Out today on Netflix is the dark comedy spy series Black Doves starring Keira Knightly, Ben Whishaw and Sarah Lancashire. It will inevitability draw comparisons with Slow Horses and while not as brilliant as the excellent Gary Oldman vehicle it is still a solid espionage thriller

Moana 2 is a disappointingly bog-standard sequel going through the motions trying to copy the original without capturing any of the magic

The Ttuly wild and unique Mrs Davis is now in the UK on ITVX. It stars Betty Gilpin as a Nun battling to take down an AI that controls the world. Yes it is as bizarre as the synopsis sounds and it comes from Damon Lindelof one of the visionaries behind Lost so it is definitely worth checking out

#Senna out today on Netflix is a fairly standard inoffensive biopic of the great driver. However your time is much better spent watching the superb documentary instead.

November's episode is out now with reviews on #Cross #ParisHasFallen & #WickedLittleLetters. We get slightly sidetracked looking at the new Saint of the Internet but do cover all the latest streaming news. Out now wherever you get your podcasts open.spotify.com/episode/5ScM...

What's everyone watching this weekend?

A Man in on the Inside is a really funny sweet new sitcom out on Netflix today. It comes from Mike Schur the man behind The Office, Parks and Rec, Brooklyn 99 & The Good Place and stars Ted Danson as a PI who goes undercover in a nursing home

One of the best and underrated series of the last few years My Brilliant Friend is back for its fourth and final series. All episodes are available now on Sky Atlantic

The Day of the Jackal on Sky is a superb spy thriller. Very James Bondesque and Eddie Redmayne is phenomenal as an ice cold assassin. Not all of it works particularly the family distractions but the central cat and mouse chase is excellent

I have absolutely no idea who anyone is or what's happening in Dune:Prophecy but it's just great to be back in the World of Dune

Gladiator II while enjoyable is two very different films-Paul Mescal in a fairly solid remake of the original and Denzel Washington acting in a Life of Brian remake.

#Cross on Prime is a fairly standard crime procedural show held together by a magnetic performance by Aldis Hodge as Cross but he is shoulders above everyone as a Movie star working in TV

The first episode of Silo season two is an incredible physical showcase for Rebecca Ferguson and is brilliant at building tension without any dialogue
