When the art's as fun as Miki Montllo's in "The Ballad of Two Wolves," it can be a challenge to pick a favorite page. But for Tim, there could be no other choice than Dandelion's ridiculously romanticized Geralt, while Valerie admired the symmetry of Geralt with the sorceress of Crane Meadow.

Witcher graphic novels are peak quality.

The Last Wish 🍎 Inspired by The Witcher novel series by A.Sapkowski

Smooth and easy sipping (perhaps too much so), Writers' Tears Copper Pot pairs nicely with the Dandelion-driven "Ballad of Two Wolves." Sweet, with notes of citrus and honey, and a lightly spiced finish, this would make a good starter whiskey for just about anyone...though especially for writers!

In this week's episode, we huff, we puff and we blow...through a bottle of Writers' Tears Irish Whiskey while talking about "The Witcher: A Ballad of Two Wolves." Geralt looks for whodunnit in this graphic novel from @darkhorse.com, but what we thought of it is no mystery. If you listen, that is...

Learning a bit about the mer vocal effects in Sirens of the Deep with language creators @quothalinguist.bsky.social and @dedalvs.bsky.social. 🧜‍♀️

Did you know that we have Witcher-themed playlists and that sometimes we even update them with new songs? Check out our linktree to find them. Happy listening!🎶

Learning the history (and name!) of the Roozh Linge language from its creators, @quothalinguist.bsky.social and @dedalvs.bsky.social 🧜‍♀️.

Instead of Geralt, Agloval should have called this week's guests! David J. Peterson (@dedalvs.bsky.social) and Jessie Peterson (@quothalinguist.bsky.social) created the languages you hear spoken in The Witcher, and they join us to discuss the musical language of Sirens's merpeople in our latest ep!

There’s a lot of dialog in “A Grain of Truth,” but sometimes it’s best to let the art speak for itself. Besides, there’s no beating Geralt in a staredown! (Art by Jonas Scharf and Jose Villarrubia) #witcher #witchercomics

When your horse is a better witcher than you are.

Here are our Smile the Grasses recs for the week. (Also, check out Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, an amazing TV show by Rachel Bloom.)

Kaer moron, comic book edition! Who made the worst decisions of the graphic novel? Was it Geralt for failing in his witcherly duties to recognize a vampire (despite several I-told-you-so’s from Roach) or the various fathers of the Continent for renting their daughters out to a terrifying beast man?

The most noteworthy thing about this Wilderness Trail Bourbon is its high rye percentage. Bold, peppery and challenging, particularly to non-rye drinkers, this made for an ideal pairing with this week’s equally complex Witcher comic. But much like the story, this one’s probably not for everybody.

It's time to get your Nivell-ON! In our new episode, we crack open the comic adaptation of Sapkowski's "A Grain of Truth." It's a challenging story, so we've paired it with the equally complex Wilderness Trail High-Rye Bourbon. Is there beauty to be found in these beasts? Listen and find out!

Robert's not wrong! 😂🧜‍♀️🎶

Also, if you're wondering if I feel bad about my awful "Nivell-ON" joke, the answer is no. No, I do not. 😜

We introduced a new segment in our latest episode, the smile of the grasses, where we recommend a fun non Witcher thing to our listeners (although Valerie cheated and snuck in a second one). Here are our picks! Have you seen any of them? What do you think?

#SirensOfTheDeep was full of characters making excellent points…and bonkers decisions! Our kaer moron picks for the film are Agloval for abandoning his royal duties while leaving his horrible father in charge, & the pearl divers for wasting a massive edible resource—as well as a surprise bonus pick.

boyfriendism is off the charts in the Witcher: Sirens of the Deep

Wake up, bestie, new Jaskier backstory just dropped.

Is the room moving because we’ve set sail…or have we just had too much Jefferson’s Ocean Aged at Sea Bourbon? Aged aboard voyaging ships, this unique #whiskey is sweet and spirited, with notes of caramel and cinnamon dominating. And it’s the perfect pairing for Geralt’s latest animated adventure!

Interesting insights from an animator that worked on Sirens.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep really proves that just because an adaptation "goes off book" doesn't mean it can't still use the component parts of the source material to spin a great story of its own. I loved it! #TheWitcher

A fun interview with Doug Cockle about playing Geralt.❤️⚔️

🎶The Prince did sit aside the sea blushing with his siren. And then two podcast hosts dared ask— 🎶 “But how does that work, you know, *physically*?” Happy Sirens day! The film is out and we have thoughts, some deep and some very, very shallow.😜 Give our new episode a listen, it’s available now!

Let's just hope the little guy likes whiskey! 😉 Thanks, @thegardeningbard.bsky.social! Can't wait to have him on the podcast. 🥃

For our earlier timezone friends, the Sirens of the Deep album is dropping midnight locally on Spotify so it’s already out for some of y’all. Enjoy!🎶

Hot take but “Geralt Enters the Chat” and “Calamari” are A+ song titles. filmmusicreporter.com/2025/02/10/t...

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep isn’t the only thing dropping tomorrow. Our episode about the movie will be available as well! Check it out after you watch to hear our thoughts on the film…and maybe a bonkers tangent or two. I mean, we are *us* after all. 😉🧜‍♀️⚔️❤️

Here are a few references from our off tangent discussion about the Czech Republic🇨🇿: some examples of the work of Valerie’s favorite artist, Alphonse Mucha, and the very cool and very old Prague Astronomical Clock.
