I despise Trump. I like making things: guitar amps, pedals, woodwork, software, DIY CNC of various sorts, cooking. Twitter account was binned some time ago - hoping for better here.

I shouldn't post late in the evening when I'm tired and have inevitably had one too many. To be boring about IT for a moment, what most CIOs fail to understand is that delivering great IT is all about enabling people to be great and creating great teams. The tech is not the hard part.

You've got to love Michael Spicer www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNXR...

I guess I thought Freebird would be upholding the beliefs of Fonda and Hopper but maybe they were proxies for those who shot them?

I feel conflicted but I suspect I know the right answer - will it ever be ok to like Sweet Home Alabama again?

As Donald Trump takes aim at global norms and institutions, the question of what parts of the post-Cold War order can be saved – and for whom – requires urgent attention.

Just turned on BBC1 in preparation for Pointless only to discover they're covering some shit show in DC. Thankfully, BBC2 has bowls followed by Pointless so I'll be sticking with that to avoid the awfulness. Odd that a gameshow name should be more appropriately applied to coverage of US democracy.

Let me know when it's safe to watch the news again

At last some good news - the great #jimmyanderson will be back for Lancashire in 2025. Even the Tykes couldn't help allowing a smile to cross their face at the prospect of a true giant of the game being able to continue his illustrious career.

I hate how greasy polers don't care about the damage they do to the organisations that employ them. I also hate the fact that Apple makes lots of money. At the same time, I wish that every CXO was forced to think "What would Ted Lasso do?"

Have always enjoyed darts and really great to see Luke the Nuke both showing what he can do and demonstrating a fair bit of common sense. At the same time, am sad that the comparisons to the like of Taylor and Bristow don't include the great John Lowe. Still remember his first televised 9 darter.

wltm parents of #OCD children who are trying to work out how to get them to engage with managing the voices in their head

Was amazing to have our daughter back from her first term @ Uni for Christmas. Still need to work on the OCD (really) but she's loving her course and at least it's persuaded her that we not awful and she likes us enough to give me hugs when I drive her up the M40 in snow and fog.

I'm not a footballing genius, and I'm not an LFC fan (although I think they're a great team), but I am pretty cetain that Slot will regret it if they don't give Salah a decent new contract.

At least the mighty Us salvaged a point at Wrexham.

My first experience of top tier football was Arsenal vs Everton at Highbury and finished 6 - 2 to the Gunners. Would have been good for my fantasy team if they could have repeated that today...

Am hoping I haven't made a terrible mistake - I have Salah, Palmer and Saka and they all have jucy home fixtures. Most are going with Palmer but I've captained Saka. Current FPL rank is below 335k but this might be where I start to blow it...

Understanding the reality of Conway's Law is the single most important thing any CIO can do.

In any large organisation there are two paths you can take: Don't rock the boat or agitate to make things better. Change is hard so most middle managers don't want the boat rocked - this is why large organisations punish everyone who wants to make them better.

BREAKING: BLUESKY JUST REACHED 25,000,000 USERS. Elon Musk’s X lost over 2.7 million active users in the US while Bluesky gained around 2.5 million since he started promoting Donald Trump. Let's keep it up and spread the word about Bluesky.

Speaking truth to power is vital but doesn't usually end well (I've tried it several times). Fortunately, you get to a point in life where you don't give a shit and the power loses its ability to control you through fear.

Dear Bluesky, Congrats on hitting 25 MILLION users! May we continue to survive and thrive together! Love, God

What makes in-app advertisers think that making it as hard as possible to skip their ads does anything other than really piss people off and ruin their brands?
