Did you know, white storks build nests that can last decades? Currently, storks are starting to develop their nests at @kneppwilding.bsky.social, to provide a safe haven for their chicks and support other wildlife! Read the thread to find out more and see the blog on our website (link in bio)🪺

Exciting to have ITV Meridian visit the storks at @kneppwilding.bsky.social! 🎥 Check out their feature on the White Stork Project⬇️ youtu.be/Y3wB7PYf-LU?... #WhiteStorks #Rewilding #Knepp @kneppwildlandfdn.bsky.social

Nest-building, bonding, and mating are in full swing for the storks at @kneppwilding.bsky.social Ania & Bartek are busy prepping their nest— working together, both birds will bring materials. Here, Bartek hauls hay from nearby stables. No eggs yet, but watch this space! #WhiteStorks #Rewilding

Big thanks to Laura Barroso & Benito Sánchez for spotting GBM7 at a landfill in Ciudad Real, Spain! This wild-hatched female from 2024 @kneppwilding.bsky.social has made it to Spain and we hope to see her again! Every sighting helps track these incredible birds—report any sightings on our website!

Happy Valentine's day! Have you seen Ania (GB5B) and Bartek (GB18) celebrating on the live cam? ❤️ @kneppwilding.bsky.social They've been busy, from nest building and bonding behaviour to mating. Looking promising for another successful breeding season! 🥚 Tune in 24/7! (link in bio)

Spotted today at @kneppwilding.bsky.social: Storks following the pigs, taking advantage of the upturned soil which exposes a range of invertebrates to feast on! Elsewhere, these clever birds have learned to follow tractors and ploughs for foraging opportunities! 📷George Wallbridge #rewilding

It's International Day of Women and Girls in Science! Knepp’s story of nature restoration is underpinned by science, and we have some incredible scientists in our team. We asked some of them who had inspired them and why. Read more: knepp.co.uk/2025/02/the-... #February11 #IDWGS #WomeninScience

Some heartwarming behaviour from our ground-nesting, non-flying storks. As they begin to pair up they have been seen bringing fresh nesting material and displaying to each other.🪺 Huge thanks to dedicated volunteer, Kevin, who undertakes the management of camera trap footage and analysis! 🎥

In case you missed it.... A lovely mention of the Storks and their migration from Rebecca Stott's "A Point of View" on Radio 4! 📻 Tune in to BBC Sounds for the full episode: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/... Find our stork flight maps on our website... link in bio! 🗺️

Had a great time speaking to RSPB members in Shalford yesterday! It was great to share insights into our project’s aims, methods & key highlights—always rewarding to connect with fellow nature enthusiasts. 🐦🪺 Thanks to everyone who came along & joined the discussion! #Conservation #RSPB

Thanks to our team of volunteers, we have observed our first few cases of white stork mating at @kneppwilding.bsky.social this year! They're a few days earlier than last year, so eggs will likely be laid early March. Keep an eye on our live camera to watch the breeding season unfold! 📷-Silla
