So far there has been no effective opposition to this power grab from any meaningful power center - business, unions, finance, congress. They are all muttering under their breath and won’t speak up unless there’s a spark to light the fire. Go out on April 5th!

Why did Musk chose a Wisconsin Supreme Court contest to flex his power? It’s an important race but not essential. In a Zizek-like paradox , if he lose he wins. If Crawford wins, the Courts will be more reluctant to rein in the power of money - see, Democracy works as expected.

Institutionalism failed us. Not religious about Bailey social entropy ideas, but the Democratic Party antagonism to anything disruptive of rigid structures doomed us. Ossification on all issues foreign and domestic opened the gates to chaotic actors to provide energy. We died of entropic death.

If there was a better way for Musk /Trump to seize extraordinary powers, they would have done it. The path now is to hollow institutions who may potentially oppose them (students, lawyers), and tank the economy betting on civil strife. As the unemployment spikes their platforms will instigate it.
