Took the bike in for some minor stuff should be ready to go mid week. đź’—

Upside of not watching the constant stream of bad news constantly? Sleep. Downside? I may not make it to the grocery store in time to stock up on consumables before I can’t afford ramen anymore

Trying out a new workspace today. It’s a good one, I think

Back in the PNW. It’s really green and there is substantial water here. May it always be endowed with abundant water and lush flora.

But the couch is where it’s at

My bff. Stoned. Gave her a tranquilizer because she was stressing out on the move.

I’m a lucky human to have a family that helped me move AGAIN. 💗

Never bench your best player. Especially when you’re down. I don’t care if you find that player to be an utter peacock. It’s not all about sportsmanship and moral high ground (or seniority). It’s about what the stakes are in the game. And if they’re high, you pull out all the stops.

You know what’s harder than quitting smoking or not eating as much sugar? Trying to quit consuming. I’ve been trying to abstain and it’s not easy. If I’m Not buying something I’m consuming social media. Ugh.

My short time in California as a kid was pretty great. The west is the best

Big updates on Weds: A. 3 Developments in Existing Cases - SCOTUS rejects administration petition on USAID - DC Circuit stays district court; now removes Dellinger from Special Counsel position - District court issues preliminary injunction preventing reduction of NIH cost reimbursement rates

I’ve been very fortunate to have an education and a survival instinct…it’s gotten me pretty far…but, more than anything, I just want to see my daughter find her dreams. I just want to live simply and watch sunsets and walk on beaches. 3 years ago from my back porch

Headed north again soon 💗 Close to my second home and friends and good coffee and great food and the ocean and the Columbia River Gorge…it’s not all perfect-family will be farther away and living isn’t cheap…but I can always come home to visit

Morning walk - shoes on the power lines. I heard that’s a bad thing. And I found a cool sticker on my way home.

My not so little friend đź’—

Christmas morning with the love of my life…long ago. Bandon, OR.

Just me and my bff. Staying indoors on a cold afternoon…waiting for spring…and for this knot in my stomach to loosen a bit. Polly doesn’t seem to have the knot. Probably why she is so cool.

Morning walk a couple years ago. That light that looks like a train coming towards me was a mountain biker. That was an intense sunrise.

Morning walk on the Willamette. This spot was popular among the youth - there was a rope rigged on one of the gigantic trees - I assume for swinging into the water. I found cool trucker get there once and the fire pit always looked like it was put to good use. Empty beer bottles would come and go.

Morning walk with Polly probably in early 2018 (I guess I could check-but I like guessing). And that’s the Willamette. I’m sure about that.

Six years ago, today… Kamuela-Makanikahio I wonder if I’ll ever know that kind of peace again

Setting moon on the same trip to Bosque del Apache. Not a single bird in that shot either 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sunrise at Bosque del Apache a while ago. Not a single bird in either photo. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is VERY good news. Love bookshop.org and all the stuff they do! www.salon.com/2025/01/28/b...

One of my favorite pics in the world. Many. Years. Ago. Woodburn, Oregon

I still have time to learn how to make daisy chains. I’m going to work on that.

Long ago near Lincoln City. She is my heart that walks around outside of my body.

Olympia, WA in 2020. Polly and I walked on the waterfront every morning.

Just a pic from the mountains I can see from my front door. Sometime in the last 3 years.

Red woods in black and white. 2018. #thegoodolddays

I went on a work trip to Naples, FL in 2018. One and only time I’ve been there. This is Pelican Bay…there were a lot of Pelicans there.

On my way home one night in 2018 in the Columbia River Gorge. #Highway84

My first trip to Oregon’s southern coast in 2016. This was down the street from my Airbnb (that was a shed) near Coos Bay.

My best friend.

Spring in the Columbia River Gorge. I think this was a week night. I felt like I had the whole place to myself. There is nothing like the feeling of walking in the gorge on cool spring evening, being surrounded by soft gold light, with knee high balsamroot brushing against your legs.

Sunset in Kona many years ago. I was locked out of my room. I can’t think of a better place to be locked out of my room.

Sometimes all it takes to feel better is a silhouette of fading sunflowers at twilight.
