Been a crazy couple months... Upgraded from a threadripper 3970x to a i9 13900k, wasn't happy w perf then upgraded to an AMD 9950x3d and wasn't happy so now im going back to my threadripper w a couple upgrades... 2x4tb nvme and 1x2tb nvme and a rtx 5090. 64 full threads is just hard to beat.

Worked on an instance manager - when players are far enough away from vegetation, etc it turns objects into instances so it saves perf & then if they go even further it unloads meshs & objects - works in multiplayer as well so its aware of all players & spheres of instance. An uplift of 275% perf

So I can pickup Rtx 4090 d from a source in china for $1800.00 - it’s the model they added 48gb. But I just purchased a Rtx 5090 for $2800 —- think I should return the 5090 and get the 4090 and save some money and get the larger vram for unreal engine and AI work on the 4090? #gamedev #indiedev

Been working on character creator for my #scifi mmorpg and I can see why #starcitizen doesn't let you deform the actual character body and stays w basically the skin tone, hair and face. Applying body morphs to body affects everything from matching morphs to all in-game clothing etc. #gamedev
