@richkhistory.bsky.social is one of my absolute favourite authors. Down to earth, bloody clever and an all round top bloke. What an incredible key note on world building to end #ArkSoane25

The genius of @michaeldoron.bsky.social outlining the transition from Yr8 to Yr9. Curriculum coherence at its finest. #ArkSoane25 #ChangingHistoriesKS3

@jacobolivey.bsky.social outlining Ark Soane's Yr9 curriculum. If you like the look of this, then you're going to love Changing Histories Book 3: Fragile Worlds (out in 2026).

All set for #ArkSoane25. A great day ahead!!

So this happened! Here's a glimpse into my training for the London half marathon in memory of the wonderful Helen Snelson. I'm sure she was looking down on us thinking 'put away that bloody camera' 🤣 Do donate if you can. See link below youtu.be/2TNcJ2GxU_U?...

We're now at about 350 sign ups for this webinar. Wow! 🤯 Thanks to each and every one of you who's shown an interest. @hughrichards.bsky.social 's session will be a game changer for those who want to use stories in their history teaching but don't know what that actually looks like in the classroom.

Great to see so many Hachette Learning authors presenting at the conference. Everyone's sessions look fab.

Cat's sessions are always the 💣 Do check out this HA series.

We've had over 200 sign ups on this already. The question is will @hughrichards.bsky.social surpass @paulalobo.bsky.social 's 288? Over the moon with all the interest in this #ChangingHistoriesKS3 webinar series. Plenty more to come in 2025 inc @catherinepriggs.bsky.social and @egcarr.bsky.social

We know students love stories but how you do you actually tell them? How do they connect with your wider lesson sequence and its enquiry question? What do you get pupils to do with them? @hughrichards.bsky.social will explain, using beautiful examples from our new KS3 textbooks #ChangingHistoriesKS3

This FREE webinar will be 🔥🔥🔥. Definitely not to be missed, especially if you're after a sneaky peek of Hugh's awesome Changing Histories Book 2 chapter on Wedgwood. It's glorious.

If you teach or line manage history, or lead on curriculum, then get to London for #Soane25 on Sat 8 Feb. It will be a revelation. The history ed community is amazing. It sets its own high standards and its conferences are invariably glorious, but this new one, now in 2nd year, is something else.

All of the #Soane25 workshops look amazing but having read @paulalobo.bsky.social 's wonderful draft #ChangingHistoriesKS3 Book3 chapter on the Big Freeze, I'm particularly looking forward to this.

Last chance for Early Bird Tickets for the @1972shp.bsky.social Developing Teachers' Conference. Prices change at midnight🕛 so don't miss out on a great bargain. 6 secondary, 3 primary workshops and a fab keynote from Shalina Patel (more book prizes being released next week!). Ticket link below

Thank you @mrsampullan.bsky.social for such a glowing review of not only the textbook but the supporting Boost resources. I worked really hard with the team to create genuinely useful support material. More teachers need to realise how valuable it is and how it takes the book to another level.

The power of curriculum. Changing perceptions of the past through beautiful story telling based on rigorous historical research

Reflecting on 10 exciting things I’ve worked on this year in the wonderful world of history teaching. 1. First up it was a delight to see my book on Germany 1918-1939 for EdExcel history published in September. Thanks to @willgoodfellow82.bsky.social for the opportunity and support

Mike has knocked it out of the park with the keynote speakers! Can't wait.

Brilliant 🧵 from Hodder author @edurbin.bsky.social highlighting the beauty of @paulalobo.bsky.social 's chapter on Nur Jahan in the forthcoming Changing Histories KS3 Expanding Worlds textbook.

👇 What Michael says 👇 Michael exactly sums up what we sought to achieve with #ChangingHistoriesKS3: ... namely, all pupils, especially low prior attainers & various SEND, lapping up history and learning efficiently as a result of great stories, strong prose and tight disciplinary framing.

Couldn't agree more!!

Year 7 today, started Mansa Musa and Mali. One genuinely asked “I don’t mean to be racist but I thought black people were slaves back then?” An hour with the opening story from the #changinghistoriesKS3 enquiry changed his view! Just look at this writing 👀

Just listening to @paulalobo.bsky.social about Making Sources Sing, the Paston family etc. The session brought sources to life, seamlessly weaving evidence into compelling stories from the past. Fascinating stuff.

So 287 people have signed up for this free webinar at 4pm today! We've taken the limits off because (unsurprisingly) the curriculum & classroom wisdom of the super-talented @paulalobo.bsky.social is well known to be always a joy, always illuminating. If you're not free, register and listen later.

Congrats @danlyndon.bsky.social on a fab line-up for the @1972shp.bsky.social Developing Teachers' Conference. Lovely to see lots of Hodder authors on there too!

I'm so excited about Monday! I can't wait to share all my work on sources and how I collaborated with historian Helen Castor and anthropologist Sabine Hyland to create two unique enquiries that get my pupils really excited about studying a variety of sources in purposeful, constructive enquiries.

Hoorah! Can't wait for #Soane25! 'Building worlds' is a terrific theme for the second year of this beautiful conference and the history geeks of Ark Soane are perfect hosts. History teachers everywhere, come for a day of total sanity and joy. Not one spot of dodgy 'sourcework' in sight.

If Changing Histories was a restaurant it would be awarded three Michelin stars. Check out Christine's in depth thread on how the authors have approached sources and sign up to Monday's free webinar to find out more.

Amazing to see Hodder Ed's A New Focus On...The British Empire receive such a positive review. If you're looking for a textbook dedicated to this topic, it's the best out there. Huge congrats to the authors for being so brilliant. @edurbin.bsky.social @richkhistory.bsky.social @mrsthorne.bsky.social

Wowsers! What a line up!! This is going to be epic. See you at #Soane25

Some lovely Changing Histories feedback. And on my birthday too!! Thanks Richard! Comments like this make me very happy indeed.

Thank you to the hundreds of teachers who've already signed up for this FREE webinar from @counsellc.bsky.social and @paulalobo.bsky.social. If you register but can't make the date, Hodder will send you a link to the recording.
