The good thing about #AI is that they'll stop blaming #Excel for bankruptcy and lost revenue. (Yeah, I know, with Copilot it's more like "why not both".)

If you are not a graphic designer, the worst sin in #datavis is trying to make your visualization visible (you don't have the right skills). But if you make it invisible, your client will not value it (it looks "obvious"). Either way, you're f*cked.

During the times of William Playfair et al. the chart was properly labeled and annotated. With time, people became more familiar with charts and authors decided that those annotations were no longer needed, and a legend was enough. And that's how the legend became the #datavis coccyx.
