38/125 ๐Ÿ“šThe Favorites โœ’๏ธLayne Fargo โญ4/5 ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ1/5 Messy, toxic, and scandalous. Very Tayor Jenkins Reid coded. Loved the part-documentary format - kept the pages turning. The characters weren't the most loveable but I guess that was the whole point. Not sure what genre I'd class this, really. โณ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

April Reading Wrap Up Good start, but went through a slump with a lot of DNFs at the end. ๐Ÿ˜ช #storygraph #currentlyreading #booksky ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ“šโณ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“šโšก๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

Finally got to pick this one up from the library! #currentlyreading The Favourites ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

Knowing what was coming didn't make it easier #tlou

37/125 ๐Ÿ“šThe Unrequited โœ’๏ธSaffron A. Kent โญ4/5 ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ4/5 -Age gap -Student x prof -Taboo Loved how unapologetically toxic this story was. I wanted to hate Layla but ended up loving her beautiful, messed up mind and rather unhinged behaviour. ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

36/125 ๐Ÿ“šDisobedient Pawn โœ’๏ธBrooklyn Cross โญ2.5/5 ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ1/5 -rh -slow burn If you ignore the confusing punctuation and lack of character development, then this was okay. I liked the FMC and I do like a slow burn rh so I'm willing to give book two a chance. Hopefully we get more from the characters. ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

35/125 ๐Ÿ“šWild Side โœ’๏ธElsie Silver โญ3/5 ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ2/5 The wrestling aspect was a little cringe and I feel like the MMC didn't have the personality for it. I'm not enjoying this series as much as her other ones. Not sure what it is about it exactly. ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

34/125 ๐Ÿ“šInsatiable โœ’๏ธLeigh Rivers โญ3/5 ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ4/5 -enemies to lovers -forced proximity -2nd chance This was okay. Almost DNFed at 20% but it got interesting. I preferred the Kade from flashbacks - him becoming a killing machine in 2 years was unrealistic. A lot of it felt rushed and underdeveloped. ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

33/125 ๐Ÿ“šHomeseeking โœ’๏ธKarissa Chen โญ4/5 A heartwrenching story spanning 70 years about friendship, love, family, and making impossible choices. Loved the storytelling in this and I always appreciate when a fiction novel can teach me something about history. โณ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

32/125 ๐Ÿ“šArtificial Condition โœ’๏ธMartha Wells โญ4/5 Delightful. Kevin R. Free does a wonderful job narrating this series. Love the dry sense of humour of the non-human characters and excited to see more of ART. Still wish the books were longer. ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

31/125 ๐Ÿ“šShattered Glitter โœ’๏ธBlake Black โญ3/5 ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ2/5 -rh Not a literary masterpiece but fun nonetheless. I'm excited to see how the author handles the reveal between Nova and Alaric. Not sure if it's still supposed to be this big twist as it was very obvious from the get go, though... ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

I'm a sucker for a gorgeous cover. #currentlyreading โณ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

30/125 ๐Ÿ“šWe Used To Live Here โœ’๏ธMarcus Kliewer โญ3/5 This was definitely an eerie read, but I didn't understand what the fuck was going on. I was invested in the story and did enjoy it, but I was waiting for an explanation. Did I miss something or was it ambiguous on purpose? ๐Ÿฉธ๐Ÿ“šโšก๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

29/125 ๐Ÿ“šThe Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook โœ’๏ธMatt Dinniman โญ5/5 3rd book in the series. Really loved this one. Saw people say the mechanics of the level were tedious, but I thought it was quite fun. I'm excited to see where the story goes - possibilities are endless! Also, best cover so far! ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

March Wrap-up! A bit of a slow one. A lot of DNFs for me. ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ“šโœ’๏ธ๐Ÿ“šโณ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™ #storygraph #currentlyreading

50% into Dungeon Crawler Carl book 3. Loving the floor design! These books hit every time. ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™ #currentlyreading

28/125 ๐Ÿ“šAll Systems Red โœ’๏ธMartha Wells โญ4/5 For a story about a robot named "Murderbot," this was surprisingly wholesome and fun. Loved experiencing the world and human nature through the eyes of a sarcastic, apathetic, non-human entity. Wish it was longer. Will continue the series. ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

Pause/DNF ๐Ÿ“šStory of my Life โœ’๏ธLucy Score It started off well enough but I'm 40% in and I don't really care about any of the characters. I didn't dislike it, and it did make me chuckle a few times, but something is just not clicking and there's still 300 pages left so I cba ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

27/125 ๐Ÿ“šPen Pal โœ’๏ธJ.T Geissinger โญ2/5 ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ3/5 This wasn't marketed well. For a book titled "pen pal", the letters were a miniscule, inconsequential part of the plot. Calling the FMC "bunny" all the time was also kinda cringe. I will say, the voice actors were ๐Ÿ‘Œ and I didn't expect the plot twist. ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

26/125 ๐Ÿ“šFirst-Time Caller โœ’๏ธB.K. Borison โญ4.5/5 ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ2/5 This was delightful. A fun little rom-com with Sleepless in Seattle vibes - I could see it being turned into a modern adaptation. The plot was quite predictable but it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book. Loved all the characters! ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

25/125 ๐Ÿ“šBreak me (#2 in series) โœ’๏ธK.A. Tucker โญ3/5 ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ3/5 *Spoilers* I don't really know why the MMC was so upset? Didn't he literally say they need to step back and break it off? 3 stars for Ronan and Connor alone. Wanted more of them and wish the story didn't 180 again so quickly. ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

24/125 ๐Ÿ“šTempt Me โœ’๏ธK.A. Tucker โญ3/5 ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ3/5 I enjoyed this book while I was reading it, but in retrospect I don't even know what I liked about it. I don't really like naive and "innocent" characters, and the FMC was definitely that. It did hook me, I'll give it that. ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

DNF at 40% ๐Ÿ“šThe Stopover โœ’๏ธTL Swan My first proper DNF of the year. Started off okay then it went downhill quickly. The MCs were childish and fighting over stupid things all the time. Got old quickly. I would've DNF'ed earlier but I was hoping there would be some character development. No luck ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

23/125 ๐Ÿ“šThe Book That Wouldn't Burn โœ’๏ธMark Lawrence โญ3/5 This was a nice story with an interesting concept. I loved how the mysteries came together in the end. The pacing was all over the place though, and it didn't need to be as long as it was. Took me ages to get through. ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™ ๐Ÿงต

Me listening to yet another customer tell me it must be a nice job, just shelving books all day. #library #booksky ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ“šโœ’๏ธ๐Ÿ“šโณ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

22/125 ๐Ÿ“šJames โœ’๏ธPercival Everett โญ4/5 -retelling This wasn't an easy read but an important one. It's hard to think that this was a reality for so many and the echoes of that time are still affecting people today I do wish I'd read Huck's story beforehand as I felt I was missing some context โณ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™ ๐Ÿงต
