A good nest is essential to keep babies warm. Ideally a female will pull hair before and after birth. When checking on the newborns you may find they doing something called popcorning .they will make little jumps to get to mom

Rabbits have the highest ratio for meat 4 pounds of food in 1 pound of meat produced. A female rabbit can also have upwards of 14 babies at a time although 6 is a more manageable number .A female should be at least six months for medium size breeds before trying to breed. #GrowYourOwn #Homesteading.

Now that you have decided that you want rabbits you need to pick a place to house them. Rabbits do well in the cold but not so well in the heat, so the best place to pick is either a shady spot or even a barn. I keep my cages bigger to allow a tote to fit comfortably so that my females have a nest

Rabbits are very versatile for homesteads large and small. They are quite,do not take up much room, and many cities do not count them as livestock #GrowYourOwn #Homesteading.
