An excellent first International Fans Weekend at AFC Wimbledon where Dons fans from 24 countries were attending for a social evening and then saw a 1-0 win over Salford City. Our headline WOPA special guest was former WFC Premier League goalkeeper Hans Segers who was brilliant value throughout.

Sian Wylie was primarily a right back with AFC Wimbledon between 2014-2020 making 94 appearances after joining from Basingstoke. Moved to Southampton for three seasons where she was converted to a successful striker, scoring 21 in 28 games in 2021/22. Welcome to WOPA Sian πŸ”΅πŸŸ‘πŸ€

Now back with Denham United, striker Jenny Nagle spent two seasons with AFC Wimbledon Women between 2017-19 but it was interrupted by a collision during a game that left her with a damaged spleen, a punctured lung, a bruised kidney and three broken ribs! Welcome to WOPA Jenny! πŸ”΅πŸŸ‘

Versatile left-sided defender, Alex Cottier won a National League and FA Cup double for Croydon in 1996 during several top flight seasons plus five England caps (Lionesses legacy number 107) and represented the British Army. Manager Terry Burton spent £1.25million to bring Darren Holloway to Wimbledon from Sunderland in September 2000 and the former England U21 defender made 68 Dons appearances in the next two seasons. Now the Head Football Coach at East Durham College, we welcome Darren to WOPA 🀝

Remembering Lenny Piper who passed away a year ago today aged just 46 after a brave battle with cancer. A gifted young attacking midfielder who won five England youth caps scoring three goals, he represented Wimbledon in the Intertoto Cup before a Β£40,000 transfer to Gillingham. RIP Lenny.

Midfielder Martin Carthy scored on his AFC Wimbledon debut after arriving on a short term contract from Thurrock in 2006, but the logistics of his day job as a Barking based firefighter saw him sign for Welling United after just three Dons games. Welcome to WOPA Martin!

A familiar face to AFC Wimbledon fans on matchdays at Plough Lane where she helps out on reception, Clare McDonagh also played for various age group Wimbledon FC Ladies sides, before moving up to C and B team games. Welcome to WOPA Clare!
