When was the last time you heard of a ship getting lost in the Bermuda Triangle? Even just for a little while. It's been decades, right? GPS for the win. That's SCIENCE!

Very interesting, and very brave of him. I wonder whether other MLB players will be speaking out against the raids. I also wonder whether the commissioner will say anything.

About 1.5% of the U.S. population protested today. (Closer to 1.9% if you only count the adult population.)

Tomorrow's front page of the Minnesota Star Tribune

#SLC

A member of the New York #Yankees in good standing has crossed home plate safely! Surely this will be cause for a live cut-in on CNN!

There's officially too much news happening every day now for me to keep up with it, and I am a current-events junkie of the first order.

Today in Boston. Over a million people turned out. Even the drone couldn't get it all. #NoKingsDay #BostonStrong #ICEProtest

The #Yankees' talent for playing down to their level of competition is unmatched and immutable.

Cannot stress enough that the protest in DTLA was completely nonviolent until the local police departments showed up Been in contact with multiple indies currently on the ground who confirmed this. Cops pushed, then started firing riot munitions indiscriminately

The protest stories from my parents’ retirement communities are amazing. Budgets for sign making committee, transportation sign ups, walker brigade v mobility carts fracas. Fired up seniors are something to behold.

This time-lapse video of protesters marching down Broadway in Oakland for No Kings Day gives an idea of how many people turned out today @sfchronicle.com

No Kings Rally at Machipongo, Virginia along Rt 13 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia about 250 attended including my 94 year old Navy veteran dad. #nokings #esva #veteransagainsttrump

Literally the Russian flag in the post. Two of them

Gonna take a lotta Baghdad Bobbing to describe the size of that crowd, but I'm sure this bunch is up to it

In the grand scheme of things, weekend-night baseball games are way down on the list of things to complain about, but my goodness, do I loathe them. Glad this is the last regularly scheduled one for the #Yankees.

The day started with tragedy with political violence in MN and instead of being scared, neighbors SHOWED UP to stand together at No Kings Twin Cities. We packed the Capitol Mall all the way to the Cathedral. Estimate 80,000+ right now. So proud of our state. #nokings #indivisible

Four Trump NatSec officials. None mention that the victims are Democrats.

No Kings march in Philly

Just sent my 74 year old mother off to a protest with a little backpack full of water, electrolytes, saline eye rinse, and a slip of paper with important phone numbers on it. They grow up so fast 🥹

“No Kings,” Cincinnati, OH

Dallas turned out with at least 10,000 marching for #NoKingsDay

The LA crowd is huge, but then you consider there's also Santa Monica, Long Beach, etc...

You can’t see me bc I’m holding a flag but guys I live in a 2k person extremely rural town in one of the reddest counties of WI. So many people showed up there was a line all the way to the highway. I often feel a bit afraid due to my identity in this area but #nokings brought out so many

Protesters formed a human banner at Ocean Beach during the "No Kings" protests in San Francisco. The protest is among thousands of nationwide demonstrations that took place today against Trump. 📸: Photo by @santiagomejia.bsky.social #NoKingsDay

Massive #NoKings march in New York City!

So this is after the Speaker of the House said the Governor of California should be tarred and feathered, slightly disagreeing with the President and his Border Czar who wanted to arrest him, two months after somebody tried to burn the Governor of Pennsylvania and his family alive in their home.

I understand people have mixed feelings about this. In hindsight, it will hopefully seem unnecessary. But it's a tough call that has to be made quickly in the moment with incomplete information and a known active threat on the loose. It's not unreasonable and Walz is certainly not the bad guy here.

It should not be lost on anyone that Minnesota Rep Melissa Hortman, who was shot to death in her home last night by an assassin, was a gun safety advocate who worked tirelessly to protect her constituents from gun violence.

The thing about the Troubles is that, for all the violence dragged on for so long, the basic contours of the eventual settlement were relatively clear from the late 1970s. I don't know what an American Good Friday Agreement looks like.

8 days in June ‘25: - The president federalizes the California National Guard and deploys Marines to LA amid protests against ICE immigration raids - Israel attacks Iran, fueling fears of wider conflict - Democratic lawmaker assassinated - Nationwide protests as Trump throws military parade in DC

“A deranged maniac impersonated a police officer and killed lawmakers but if you’re an immigrant be sure you immediately comply with plain clothes people who won’t identify themselves telling you to get in a van”, what a fuckin country

Fully prepared for the entire right wing apparatus and a large chunk of the political center to loudly disparage "violence" by a random protestor smashing a window today while attempting to nuance-to-death what happened in Minnesota this morning.

The gunman had a cruiser and full uniform including badge and taser and was not hesitant about opening fire when confronted by cops.

Leader Melissa Hortman did so much good as MN House Speaker. But even if she hadn't, she raised her hand to run for office and worked to serve the people. If you don't agree with someone doing that work, vote them out. Political violence doesn't belong in a democracy. This is tragic and terrifying.

No Kings. Place De la Bastille Paris
