The Casa Orgánica just outside of Mexico City has no straight lines or corners and, half dug into a hill, it attempts to blend with nature and attempts to evoke a cave or perhaps a womb. Outside it looks like a basking reptile. Yes, it was built in the eighties.

From America to Russia to China the billionaires are aligning together. And they are drawing their plans against us.

Went charity shopping for John LeCarre novels and found this lil’ beauty instead. The inside scoop on one of history’s greatest moments: BBC light entertainment in the seventies.

Anyone else notice the trans man’s gender confirmation narrative in Furiosa? It’s right there but I never see much talk about it. All visual, as with a lot of Mad Max films’ best moments.

You’ll never be as dapper as David Niven on his bicycle.

Throw in a mid century modern kettle and fridge and this is the best reading room in a movie. It’s a machine for reading a novel. No indulgences, no pretensions to impress guests with how literate you are, no distractions. Even the books are hidden, if only for protection from the sun. #TheBrutalist

A blend of fantasy castle and sci-fi base, La Fabrica (just outside of Barcelona) was the dream of architect Ricardo Bofill from the moment he saw an abandoned cement factory. Now it contains gardens, a church, gallery, conference rooms, working spaces for creatives and more besides.

The karaoke night at my local took an odd turn. The lager must flow…

My guy looks like Next Generation era Patrick Stewart with an air fryer on his head. #totalwarpharoah

Today’s research for novel fact: Between 1810 and 1813 Japan was the only place in the world where the Dutch flag still flew.

‘When you think about it, hamsters evolved shopping bags millions of years ago.’ ‘What?’ ‘Their pouches.’ I cannot fault my friend’s argument.

My new jaw guard is transparent plastic and it makes my teeth look all pointy when I wear it.

What… what have I walked into here?

An absolute hoot. 100% certified.

Tempted to put a day aside to watch the Sam Neil Cosmic Horror Trilogy: Event Horizon (Firefly goes to hell), In The Mouth Of Madness (Private dick stumbles on apocalypse) and Possession (Kramer vs Kramer Vs Cthulhu). Probably in that order.

Trying to work out whether the boy in Mary Poppins would grow up to be of conscription age in time for World War 1.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall in the editors' office as they're arguing over Orwell's essay and one of them says "no, let him cook"

David Lynch died a happier and more fulfilled man than Musk, Trump or Tate ever will.

I rather enjoy when great writers and essayists make absurd and indefensible arguments, like C.S. Lewis saying women shouldn’t be priests or George Orwell saying British cooking is good. The What-A-Hill-To-Die-On! sub-genre I guess you could call it.
